Healing Emotional Numbness or Detachment linked to PTSD with Hypnotherapy

Imagine yourself integrating this newfound awareness, this newfound emotional connection. Allow yourself to feel a sense of wholeness, a sense of completeness.

Here is a hypnotherapy script to help individuals heal emotional numbness or detachment linked to PTSD:

Induction

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll connect with your inner self and tap into your body’s natural healing abilities. Allow yourself to relax, breathe deeply, and let go of any tension or stress. Imagine yourself in a peaceful, serene environment, where you feel completely safe and comfortable.

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your eyelids to grow heavy, your shoulders to drop, and your body to relax even further. Feel your heart rate slowing down, your mind quieting, and your body surrendering to the present moment.

Repeat after me: ‘I trust myself, I trust my body, and I trust the natural healing process.'”

Deepening

Imagine yourself walking down a staircase, with each step, you’re sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation. As you reach the bottom, you find yourself in a warm, soothing pool of water. Feel the gentle waves caressing your body, calming your mind, and rejuvenating your spirit.

Allow yourself to drift off, letting go of any residual tension or anxiety. You’re completely safe, supported, and protected in this hypnotic state.

Emotional Numbness or Detachment

“Now, bring your attention to your emotional numbness or detachment. Imagine a wall of ice or concrete surrounding your heart, blocking out all emotions. Allow yourself to acknowledge this wall, to recognize the emotional pain and trauma that built it.

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, repeat after me: ‘I acknowledge my emotional numbness, I acknowledge my detachment, and I choose to release them.’ Allow yourself to release these feelings, to let them flow out of your body like water flowing out of a vessel.

Imagine a warm, gentle light filling the space where the wall once was. This light represents emotional connection, intimacy, and vulnerability. Allow yourself to feel this light, to bask in its warmth and comfort.

Repeat after me: ‘I am open, I am vulnerable, and I am connected.'”

Emotional Connection

“Now, bring your attention to your emotions. Imagine yourself feeling a range of emotions, from joy and happiness to sadness and grief. Allow yourself to acknowledge these emotions, to recognize their validity and importance.

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, repeat after me: ‘I feel my emotions, I acknowledge my emotions, and I choose to express them.’ Allow yourself to express your emotions, to let them flow freely like a river.

Imagine a sense of emotional connection with yourself and others. Allow yourself to feel seen, heard, and understood. Repeat after me: ‘I am seen, I am heard, and I am understood.'”

Integration and Closure

“Take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work you’ve done today. You’ve faced your emotional numbness or detachment, and you’ve chosen to release them.

Imagine yourself integrating this newfound awareness, this newfound emotional connection. Allow yourself to feel a sense of wholeness, a sense of completeness.

Repeat after me: ‘I am whole, I am complete, and I am emotionally connected.'”

Closing

“Take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work you’ve done today. You’ve taken a major step towards overcoming PTSD and living a more emotionally fulfilling life.

Remember, this is a journey, and every day, you’re one step closer to overcoming PTSD and living a fulfilling life. Trust in yourself, trust in your body, and know that you’re capable of healing and moving forward.

When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and full of hope. Take this sense of calm and confidence with you, and remember to practice self-care, self-love, and positivity on your journey to healing.”

The Blue Feather Visualization Exercise with Hypnotherapy

Creative Visualization – A favourite creative visualization exercise for beginners is to manifest a blue feather as in Richard Bach’s book Illusions. Using the basic visualization steps described above, imagine a blue feather.

Then think about it as often as you can for a day or two without obsessing over manifesting it. You will find that you will experience a blue feather in some way in your physical world within a very short period of time. Have fun with the process. Persevere but if you do not see your feather, let it go and come back to it later rather than become frustrated. You will see it!

The more you experiment with creative visualization in this way and succeed in manifesting simple things to which you have no attachment, the more the synapses will fire in your brain, creating a solid belief around the truth that you create your reality. Once you believe it in practice and not just in theory, then you are pretty much home free to create anything you choose with detachment and faith.

Here is a hypnotherapy script for The Blue Feather Visualization Exercise:

Title: “The Blue Feather: A Symbol of Trust and Guidance”

Induction:

(Calm, soothing music starts playing. The hypnotherapist’s voice is gentle and reassuring.)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll learn to trust in the guidance of your higher self. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your body to relax, letting go of any tension or stress. Feel your muscles relaxing, starting from the crown of your head, down to your toes.

“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine yourself standing in a peaceful, serene environment. It could be a beach, a forest, or a mountain meadow. Allow yourself to fully immerse in this setting, noticing the sights, sounds, and sensations around you. With each breath, feel your body becoming heavier, more relaxed, and more calm. Your eyelids growing heavier, allowing your eyes to gently close. And as they do, allow yourself to drift into a state of deep relaxation.”

Deepening:

“Imagine yourself sinking deeper into relaxation, like a gentle wave washing over you. With each wave, feel yourself letting go of more and more tension, more and more resistance. Your body is sinking deeper, heavier, and more relaxed.

“Now, imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your entire body. This light represents the guidance and wisdom of your higher self. As it fills you, it dissolves any remaining doubts, fears, or worries. You are becoming more and more relaxed, more and more calm, with each passing moment.”

Visualization:

“Imagine a beautiful, delicate blue feather floating in front of you. This feather represents the guidance and wisdom of your higher self. Notice its gentle, soothing movement, as if it’s being carried by a soft breeze.

“As you focus on the feather, imagine it speaking to you in a gentle, loving voice. It says, ‘Trust in me, trust in yourself. I am here to guide you, to support you, and to lead you towards your highest good.’

“Notice how the feather begins to glow with a soft, blue light. This light represents the wisdom and guidance of your higher self. As you breathe in, imagine this light filling your entire body, filling you with trust, faith, and confidence.

“Now, imagine yourself holding the feather in your hand. Feel its gentle weight, its softness, and its warmth. As you hold it, imagine yourself being filled with a sense of peace, trust, and guidance. Know that you can always access this feeling, this wisdom, and this guidance whenever you need it.”

Suggestions:

“As you continue to hold the feather, I want you to repeat the following phrases to yourself, allowing the words to sink deep into your subconscious mind:

* ‘I trust in the guidance of my higher self.’

* ‘I have faith in my ability to make good decisions.’

* ‘I am supported and guided towards my highest good.’

* ‘I am worthy of trust, love, and respect.’

“As you repeat these phrases, imagine the blue feather glowing brighter, filling you with an even deeper sense of trust and guidance. Know that you can always rely on your higher self to guide you, support you, and lead you towards your highest good.”

Counting and Awakening:

“As you continue to hold the feather, I’ll count from 1 to 5. When I reach 5, you’ll slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on the day with a newfound sense of trust and faith.

1… Your body is relaxed, your mind is calm, and your heart is full of trust.

2… You are holding the blue feather, feeling its gentle weight and softness.

3… You are filled with a sense of peace, trust, and guidance.

4… You have faith in your ability to make good decisions, and trust in your higher self.

5… You are awake, refreshed, and ready to take on the day with a newfound sense of trust, faith, and guidance.”

( MUSIC FADES OUT )

Remember to trust in the guidance of your higher self, and know that you can always access this feeling of trust and peace whenever you need it. The blue feather will always be with you, guiding and supporting you on your journey.
