Title: Overcoming Pornography Addiction
Induction:
(Speak in a calm, soothing tone)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll embark on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Allow yourself to relax, letting go of any tension or stress. Take a deep breath in… and out… feeling your body relax with each exhale.
Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, with each step leading you deeper into relaxation. As you descend, allow your eyelids to grow heavy, your breath to slow, and your mind to quiet. With each step, repeat the phrase ‘I let go’ to yourself, releasing any thoughts or worries that come to mind.
Now, visualize a warm, soothing light filling your body, starting at the crown of your head and flowing down to your toes. As this light envelops you, feel any remaining tension or anxiety melt away. You’re safe, supported, and in control.
Deepening:
“Imagine yourself in a peaceful, serene environment – a place where you feel completely at ease. This could be a beach, a forest, or a cozy room in your home. Take a moment to notice the sights, sounds, and sensations in this space. Allow yourself to fully immerse in this experience, feeling the calmness and tranquility that comes with it.
As you settle into this peaceful state, repeat the following phrases to yourself:
* I am in control of my thoughts and actions.
* I am capable of making positive changes in my life.
* I am worthy of self-love and respect.
Reframing:
“Now, bring your attention to your relationship with pornography. Imagine a scales of balance in front of you, with your addiction on one side and your desire for freedom on the other. Notice how the scales are currently weighted – which side is heavier?
As you reflect on your addiction, acknowledge the emotional and psychological triggers that led you to this point. Recognize the negative impact it has on your life, relationships, and overall well-being.
Now, imagine a gentle, loving voice speaking to you, offering words of encouragement and support. This voice reminds you that you are not defined by your addiction, and that you have the power to break free.
Repeat the following affirmations to yourself:
* I acknowledge the harm caused by my addiction, and I’m committed to change.
* I recognize my worth and value beyond my addiction.
* I am capable of developing healthier habits and relationships.
Releasing and Letting Go:
“Imagine a door in front of you, representing your addiction. This door is locked, but you hold the key. As you turn the key and open the door, a bright light fills the space, symbolizing your newfound freedom.
As you step through the doorway, feel a sense of liberation and empowerment wash over you. Leave behind the shame, guilt, and self-doubt that accompanied your addiction. Instead, embrace a sense of self-compassion, understanding, and forgiveness.
Repeat the following phrases to yourself:
* I release the hold of pornography addiction on my life.
* I let go of the negative emotions and thoughts associated with it.
* I welcome a new chapter of freedom, self-love, and respect.
Future Pacing:
“Imagine yourself in the future, having overcome your addiction. See yourself navigating challenging situations with confidence and resilience. Notice how you’ve developed healthier coping mechanisms and relationships.
Envision the positive impact this newfound freedom has on your life, such as improved relationships, increased self-esteem, and a greater sense of purpose.
Repeat the following affirmations to yourself:
* I am strong and capable of maintaining my freedom.
* I trust myself to make positive choices and decisions.
* I am worthy of a happy, fulfilling life, free from addiction.
Awakening:
“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, slowly begin to bring your attention back to the present moment. Notice how you feel, and the sense of calm and empowerment that remains with you.
When you’re ready, you can slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to embark on your journey of recovery. Remember, you are strong, capable, and deserving of a life free from addiction.”
Post-Session Suggestions:
* Keep a journal to track progress and reflect on thoughts and emotions.
* Establish a support network, such as a therapist or support group.
* Engage in healthy activities and hobbies that promote self-care and self-love.
