Emotional Neglect Trauma Healing

Here’s a sample script for a clinical hypnotherapy session to help children aged5-10 years old heal from emotional neglect trauma:

Introduction

1. “Hello [Child’s name], I’m here to help you feel safe and relaxed. We’re going to do a special exercise to help you feel better.”

2. “Can you close your eyes and take a deep breath in with me?”

Induction

1. “Imagine you’re in a happy place, like a beach or a park. See yourself playing and having fun.”

2. “Notice how you’re feeling in this happy place. Are you feeling happy, calm, and safe?”

3. “As you breathe in, imagine fresh air filling your body. As you breathe out, imagine any worries or scary thoughts leaving your body.”

Deepening

1. “Now, imagine you’re walking on a path with a trusted friend or family member. You’re feeling safe and supported.”

2. “Notice the sights and sounds around you. See the trees, hear the birds singing, and feel the sun on your skin.”

3. “As you walk, imagine any tension or stress leaving your body.”

Trauma Resolution

1. “Now, I want you to imagine that you’re in a safe space, surrounded by people who love and care for you.”

2. “Imagine that the emotional neglect experiences are like clouds in the sky. They can move away, and the sun can shine through.”

3. “As you breathe in, imagine that you’re filling yourself with kind, loving thoughts. You’re worthy of love, care, and attention.”

Reframing and Empowerment

1. “You are strong and capable. You deserve to feel happy and safe.”

2. “Imagine that you’re surrounded by positive, uplifting thoughts and feelings. You’re worthy of love and care.”

3. “You can choose to let go of any negative thoughts or feelings that are holding you back.”

Counting Up and Awakening

1. “Let’s count together from 1 to10. As we count, you’ll feel yourself becoming more alert and awake.”

2. “When we reach 10, you’ll be back in the present, feeling refreshed and renewed.”

Conclusion

1. “Take a deep breath in and out. When you’re ready, you can open your eyes.”

2. “How are you feeling now?”

Post-Session

1. Provide a safe and supportive environment for the child to process their emotions.

2. Encourage the child to express their feelings and experiences.

3. Schedule follow-up sessions as needed.

Additional Tips

1. Be sensitive to the child’s emotional state and adjust the script as needed.

2. Use language that is easy for the child to understand.

3. Encourage the child to express their feelings and emotions during and after the session.
