Finding Presence in the Ordinary

A Guided Hypnotherapy Script for Grounded Awareness and Inner Stillness

(Approx. 15–20 minutes – can be adjusted for longer sessions)

Induction – Settling Into Now

Take a comfortable position.
Allow your hands to rest gently.
Let your eyes close… or soften your gaze.

Take a slow breath in through your nose…
…and gently release it through your mouth.

Again… breathe in…
…and exhale slowly.

With every breath, your body begins to settle.
There is nowhere you need to go.
Nothing you need to fix.
Nothing you need to prove.

Just this moment.

Deepening – Slowing the Mind

Bring your awareness to something simple…
The feeling of the air touching your skin.
The weight of your body supported beneath you.
The quiet rhythm of your breathing.

Notice how ordinary this moment is.
And yet… how alive it feels when you truly notice it.

I will count down slowly from 10 to 1.
With each number, you sink deeper into presence.

10… letting go of tension.
9… softening your jaw.
8… relaxing your shoulders.
7… your arms heavy and calm.
6… your chest rising and falling easily.
5… your stomach soft.
4… your legs supported.
3… your feet resting.
2… your mind quieting.
1… fully here.

The Core Experience – The Sacred in the Ordinary

Now imagine yourself in a simple, everyday moment.

Perhaps you are making a cup of tea…
Washing your hands…
Walking slowly through your home…
Or sitting by a window as light filters in.

There is nothing dramatic happening.
No urgency.
No pressure.

Just an ordinary moment.

Now begin to notice details you may usually overlook.

The sound of water pouring.
The warmth of a cup in your hands.
The subtle scent in the air.
The way light touches a surface.

As you observe, something shifts.

You realize this moment has always been here.
Alive.
Rich.
Steady.

Presence is not something you chase.
It is something you allow.

The ordinary becomes extraordinary
When you are fully inside it.

Anchoring Presence

Bring your attention to your breath again.

With every inhale, silently say:
“Here.”

With every exhale:
“Now.”

Here…
Now…

Notice how the mind may try to wander.
That is natural.

Each time it does, gently return.
No judgment.
No frustration.

Presence is patient.

Imagine now that every ordinary activity in your life carries this same quality of awareness.

Washing dishes becomes meditation.
Listening becomes connection.
Walking becomes grounding.
Working becomes purposeful.

You do not need to escape your life to feel peace.
Peace is woven into the simplest moments.

Integration – Becoming the Observer

Now imagine a soft light at the center of your chest.

This light represents awareness.
Steady.
Calm.
Observing without reacting.

Even when emotions arise…
Even when stress appears…
This light remains steady.

You can step back and observe.
You can breathe.
You can choose your response.

Presence gives you space.
Space gives you clarity.
Clarity gives you freedom.

Affirmations for Presence

Silently repeat after me:

I am grounded in this moment.
I do not need more to feel complete.
The ordinary holds quiet beauty.
I move through life with awareness.
I return to presence easily and naturally.

Reawakening

In a moment, I will count from 1 up to 5.
At 5, you will return feeling refreshed, centered, and deeply present.

1… awareness returning to your body.
2… gentle energy moving through you.
3… bringing back calm clarity.
4… taking a deeper breath.
5… eyes open, fully present, grounded, and awake.
