Distrust is not caused by others, it’s caused by past betrayal.
Here’s a hypnotherapy script aimed at reducing distrust caused by past betrayal:
Induction
(Soft, calming music plays in the background)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll work through past betrayals and cultivate trust. Allow yourself to settle in, getting comfortable and relaxed. Take a deep breath in… and out… Feel your body let go, starting from your toes, up to the top of your head. As you exhale, imagine any tension, stress, or anxiety leaving your body.”
Deepening
“Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful, serene environment, surrounded by calming sights and sounds. With each breath, feel your feet connecting with the ground, becoming more grounded and centered. As you inhale, visualize fresh, calming air filling your lungs. As you exhale, imagine any doubts, worries, or fears floating away. Allow yourself to let go, surrendering to the present moment.”
Identifying the Betrayal
“Now, imagine a situation where you felt betrayed. Perhaps someone you trusted hurt or deceived you. Allow the memory to surface, but don’t engage with it yet. Simply observe it, acknowledging the emotions that arise. How did you feel in that moment? What emotions did you experience?”
Understanding the Impact
“Take a step back and examine the impact of this betrayal. Recognize that it may have led to feelings of distrust, anger, or hurt. Understand that these emotions are natural, but they don’t have to define you. Acknowledge that you have the power to choose how you respond to these emotions, and that you can work towards healing and growth.”
Releasing the Burden of Betrayal
“Imagine a heavy stone in your hands, representing the burden of betrayal. See the stone begin to drop, symbolizing your release from the weight of the past. As the stone hits the ground, feel the weight lifting, allowing you to move forward. Repeat to yourself:
* ‘I release the burden of betrayal.’
* ‘I forgive myself and others for past hurts.’
* ‘I choose to trust again, but wisely.'”
Fostering Self-Trust and Discernment
“Visualize a warm, nurturing light filling your body, representing self-trust and discernment. As this light grows, it soothes your mind and heart, reminding you that you’re capable of making wise decisions. Imagine yourself trusting your instincts, setting healthy boundaries, and nurturing positive relationships. Allow this sense of self-trust and discernment to become your guiding force.”
Empowering Trust
“From this place of self-trust and discernment, repeat the following affirmations to yourself:
* ‘I trust myself and my abilities.’
* ‘I am worthy of healthy, trusting relationships.’
* ‘I choose to approach relationships with an open heart and mind.'”
Integration and Awakening
“Take a few deep breaths, feeling the insights and new perspectives integrating into your subconscious mind. As you slowly come back to full awareness, remember that you’ve been freed from the burden of betrayal and distrust. Carry this sense of self-trust and discernment with you, applying it to your daily life. When you feel the urge to distrust or fear, recall this feeling of empowerment and remind yourself that you have the power to choose trust, but wisely.”
Counting Up
“When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more confident. As you return to your day, remember that you’ve taken a significant step towards healing, growth, and positive change.”
