Regret is not caused by mistakes, it’s caused by inaction.

Here’s a hypnotherapy script aimed at reducing regret caused by inaction:

Induction

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll let go of regret and inaction. Allow yourself to settle in, getting comfortable and relaxed. Take a deep breath in… and out… Feel your body let go, starting from your toes, up to the top of your head. As you exhale, imagine any tension, stress, or anxiety leaving your body.”

Deepening

“Imagine yourself standing on a serene beach at sunset, feeling the gentle ocean breeze and the warmth of the setting sun. With each breath, feel your feet connecting with the ground, becoming more grounded and centered. As you inhale, visualize fresh, calming air filling your lungs. As you exhale, imagine any doubts, worries, or fears floating away on the waves. Allow yourself to let go, surrendering to the present moment.”

Identifying the Regret

“Now, imagine a situation where you felt regret due to inaction. Perhaps you wanted to take a chance, pursue an opportunity, or express yourself, but didn’t. Allow the memory to surface, but don’t engage with it yet. Simply observe it, acknowledging the emotions that arise. How did you feel in that moment? What emotions did you experience?”

Understanding the Power of Inaction

“Take a step back and examine this pattern of inaction. Recognize that it’s often driven by fear, self-doubt, or uncertainty. Understand that inaction can lead to regret, but it’s never too late to take action or make amends. Acknowledge that you have the power to choose differently, to take small steps towards your goals and desires.”

Releasing the Burden of Regret

“Imagine a weight in your hands, representing the burden of regret. See the weight begin to lift, symbolizing your release from the past. As the weight dissolves, feel the freedom and lightness that comes with letting go. Repeat to yourself:

* ‘I release the burden of regret.’

* ‘I forgive myself for past inaction.’

* ‘I choose to take action towards my goals and desires.'”

Fostering Self-Compassion and Empowerment

“Visualize a warm, nurturing light filling your body, representing self-compassion and empowerment. As this light grows, it soothes your mind and heart, reminding you that you’re capable and strong. Imagine yourself taking small steps towards your goals, celebrating your successes, and learning from your setbacks. Allow this sense of self-compassion and empowerment to become your guiding force.”

Empowering Action

“From this place of self-compassion and empowerment, repeat the following affirmations to yourself:

* ‘I trust myself to take action towards my goals.’

* ‘I am capable of making progress, one step at a time.’

* ‘I choose to focus on the present moment, taking action towards a brighter future.'”

Integration and Awakening

“Take a few deep breaths, feeling the insights and new perspectives integrating into your subconscious mind. As you slowly come back to full awareness, remember that you’ve been freed from the burden of regret and inaction. Carry this sense of self-compassion and empowerment with you, applying it to your daily life. When you feel the urge to hesitate or doubt, recall this feeling of empowerment and remind yourself that you have the power to choose differently.”

Counting Up

“When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more confident. As you return to your day, remember that you’ve taken a significant step towards self-awareness, growth, and positive change.”
