Imagine your thoughts, worries, and concerns as ripples on the surface of the lake. Watch as they dissipate, becoming smaller and smaller, until the lake is still and calm once again.

Here’s a sample hypnotherapy script for quieting the mind:

*Induction:*

“Welcome to this hypnotic journey, where you’ll learn to quiet your mind and find inner peace. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your body to relax, starting from the crown of your head, down to your toes. Feel the tension melt away with each breath.

Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, with 10 steps leading down to a peaceful, serene place. With each step, you’ll feel yourself becoming more relaxed, more calm, and more focused.

Take a step down… (pause) and as you do, feel your eyelids growing heavy, your shoulders relaxing, and your mind quieting.

Take another step down… (pause) and as you do, feel your body becoming heavier, more relaxed, and more tranquil.

Continue taking steps down, allowing yourself to relax more and more with each step… (pause between each step) … until you reach the bottom of the staircase.

*Deepening:*

“Now that you’ve reached the bottom of the staircase, imagine yourself in a peaceful, serene place. It could be a quiet beach, a forest, or a mountain meadow. Allow yourself to fully immerse in this environment, taking in the sights, sounds, and sensations.

Notice the sensation of your feet connecting with the ground, feeling stable and secure. Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet, deep into the earth, anchoring you in this peaceful state.

Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, repeat the phrase ‘I am calm, I am relaxed, I am at peace’ to yourself. Allow these words to sink deep into your subconscious, quieting your mind and soothing your emotions.

*Quietening the Mind:*

“Now, bring your attention to your mind. Imagine all your thoughts, worries, and concerns floating above you, like clouds in the sky. Watch as they drift by, without judgment, without attachment.

As you inhale, imagine fresh, calm air filling your lungs, and as you exhale, imagine any mental chatter, worries, or doubts leaving your mind, like leaves blowing away in the wind.

Repeat the phrase ‘My mind is quiet, my mind is calm, my mind is at peace’ to yourself, allowing these words to become a reality.

*Visualization:*

“Imagine a calm, peaceful lake, reflecting the beauty of nature. Imagine your thoughts, worries, and concerns as ripples on the surface of the lake. Watch as they dissipate, becoming smaller and smaller, until the lake is still and calm once again.

As you gaze upon the calm lake, allow yourself to feel a sense of inner peace, tranquility, and clarity. Know that you can return to this peaceful state whenever you need to quiet your mind.

*Counting and Awakening:*

“Now, slowly begin to count from 1 to 5, and as you do, allow yourself to become more aware of your surroundings, feeling refreshed, renewed, and at peace.

When you reach the number 5, you’ll be fully awake, feeling calm, centered, and in control.

1… (pause) …2… (pause) …3… (pause) …4… (pause) …5.

Take a deep breath in, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. You’re now fully awake, feeling refreshed, and ready to take on your day with a quiet, calm mind.”
