Imagine a strong, confident version of yourself, standing tall and proud. This version of you is capable of handling any emotional situation without turning to food. You’re able to recognize your emotions, acknowledge them, and find healthier ways to cope.

Here is a hypnotherapy script to help stop emotional eating:

*Induction*

(Speak calmly and slowly)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, where you can relax and let go. Take a deep breath in through your nose, and exhale out through your mouth. As you breathe out, allow any tension or stress to leave your body.

Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, and with each step you take, you feel yourself becoming more and more relaxed. Your feet feel heavy, your legs feel relaxed, and your body feels calm. With each step, you’re letting go of any worries or concerns.

You’re now at the bottom of the staircase, and you find yourself in a peaceful, calm place. This is your safe space, where you can let go of emotional eating and find freedom from cravings.

*Deepening*

“Take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your eyelids to grow heavy. Your eyelids are like weights, pulling your eyes gently closed. As you breathe out, feel your jaw release, your shoulders drop, and your body relax even further.

Imagine a warm, soothing light filling your body, starting at the crown of your head, and flowing down to your toes. This light is calming, reassuring, and peaceful. As it flows through your body, it’s washing away any emotional turmoil, any cravings, and any urges to eat out of emotions.

*Suggestions*

“Now, imagine yourself in a situation where you would normally reach for comfort food or overeat. It could be a stressful day at work, a difficult conversation with a loved one, or simply feeling bored or lonely. But this time, instead of reaching for food, you pause.

You take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, you repeat to yourself: ‘I am in control. I am strong. I can manage my emotions without food.’

“I am not hungry; I am emotional. I will take a few deep breaths, go for a short walk, or engage in a relaxing activity to calm myself down.”

*Visualization*

“Picture yourself in a scenario where you would normally overeat or make unhealthy food choices. But this time, you’re making a different choice. You’re choosing to eat nourishing foods that fuel your body, not your emotions.

Imagine the taste, the smell, and the texture of healthy foods. See yourself enjoying a balanced meal, savoring each bite, and feeling satisfied without feeling guilty.

“Now, imagine yourself in the future, in a situation where you’re tempted to emotional eat. But instead, you remember the strength and confidence you’ve developed. You pause, take a few deep breaths, and make a conscious decision to nourish your body, not your emotions.

*Counting and Awakening*

“As you continue to relax and focus on your breath, I’ll count from 1 to 5. When I reach 5, you’ll slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and in control of your food choices.

1… 2… 3… 4… 5.

Open your eyes, take a deep breath in, and remember: you have the power to stop emotional eating and make healthier choices. You are in control.”

*Self-Hypnosis Suggestions*
