Hypnotherapy Depth Test 5 of 5

We will use this depth as a benchmark for our future sessions to ensure that you’re able to access your subconscious mind and make positive changes.

Here is a sample script for a Hypnotherapy Depth Test:

Introduction

“Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I’ll be guiding you through this hypnotherapy depth test. This test is designed to help us understand how deeply you can relax and respond to hypnotic suggestions. Please find a comfortable seated or lying position, and take a few deep breaths to relax. You can close your eyes if you like, but it’s not necessary.

Remember, hypnosis is a state of focused attention, and you’ll always be in control. You can stop the test at any time if you feel uncomfortable or need to take a break. Are you ready to begin?”

Counting Down

“Imagine you’re standing at the top of a peaceful staircase, with 10 steps leading down to a deeper state of relaxation. As I count down from 10, you’ll take a step down with each number, feeling yourself becoming more relaxed and calm.

10… take a deep breath in… and exhale slowly… feeling yourself relax just a little bit more…

9… your eyelids are becoming heavier… your muscles are releasing their tension…

8… your breath is slowing down… your heart rate is decreasing…

7… your mind is quieting… your thoughts are drifting away…

6… your body is feeling heavier… sinking deeper into relaxation…

5… you’re becoming more disassociated from your surroundings… focusing inward…

4… your subconscious mind is becoming more accessible… responding to my suggestions…

3… you’re entering a deeper state of trance… letting go of all tension and anxiety…

2… your critical thinking mind is slipping away… allowing your subconscious to respond freely…

1… you’re now at the bottom of the staircase… in a deep, peaceful state of hypnosis…”

Depth Check

“Take a moment to notice how deeply relaxed you are. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being completely awake and 10 being deeply asleep, how would you rate your current state?”

(Wait for the client’s response)

“Good. Now, I’d like to test your responsiveness to hypnotic suggestions at this depth. Please nod your head or respond verbally to the following suggestions:

* Your arm is feeling heavy and immobile. (Wait for response)

* You’re feeling a sense of calmness and tranquility. (Wait for response)

* Your eyes are closing, and you’re doubling your relaxation. (Wait for response)

“Excellent. Take a deep breath in, hold it for a moment, and exhale slowly. As you continue to relax, remember that you’re always in control and can come back to full awareness whenever you need to.”

Ratifying the Depth

“Based on your responses, I’m going to ratify your depth at [insert depth, e.g., 8 or 9]. This means that we’ve established a deep enough state of hypnosis for effective therapy and suggestions to take root. We’ll use this depth as a benchmark for our future sessions to ensure that you’re able to access your subconscious mind and make positive changes.”

Awakening

“Take a deep breath in, hold it for a moment, and exhale slowly. As you exhale, feel yourself gradually returning to full awareness, feeling refreshed, relaxed, and calm. When you’re ready, you can slowly open your eyes, and we’ll discuss the results of the depth test.”

Remember, this script is just a sample, and you should adjust it according to your personal style and the specific needs of your clients. It’s essential to create a comfortable and trust-building atmosphere during the test to ensure accurate results.

Here is a sample script for a Hypnotherapy Depth Test:

Introduction

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy depth test. The purpose of this test is to help us determine how deeply you can enter into a state of hypnosis. This will allow us to tailor our future hypnotherapy sessions to your individual needs and maximize the effectiveness of our work together.

Induction

“Take a deep breath in, hold it for a moment, and exhale slowly. As you breathe out, allow your body to relax, starting from the crown of your head, down through your neck, shoulders, arms, chest, abdomen, lower back, hips, legs, and finally, your toes.

Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase with 10 steps leading down to a peaceful, relaxing place. With each step, you’ll feel yourself becoming more relaxed, more calm, and more focused.

Take a step down, and as you do, feel your body relaxing further. (pause)

Take another step down, and feel yourself letting go of any tension or stress. (pause)

Take another step down, and imagine yourself becoming more serene, more peaceful. (pause)

Continue stepping down, pausing for a moment on each step, until you reach the bottom of the staircase. When you do, you’ll find yourself in a peaceful, relaxing place, where you can let go of all worries and concerns.”

Depth Test

“Imagine you’re holding a small, delicate flower in the palm of your hand. As I count from one to five, the flower will begin to fade away, petal by petal, until it disappears completely.

One… the first petal falls away.

Two… the second petal disappears.

Three… the flower is starting to fade.

Four… only a few petals remain.

Five… the flower has completely disappeared.

Notice how easily you were able to imagine the flower fading away. This indicates that you’re already in a state of hypnosis.

Now, I’ll give you a series of statements, and I want you to respond with the number that indicates how deeply you feel you’re in hypnosis.

On a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 is not at all and 10 is completely, how deeply do you feel you’re in hypnosis right now?

(pause for response)

Good. Now, I’ll give you a series of challenges to help you deepen your state of hypnosis further.”

Deepening Challenges

“Imagine your right arm is becoming heavier, feeling like it’s sinking into the chair or the floor. As I count from one to five, your arm will become heavier and more relaxed.

One… your arm is starting to feel heavy.

Two… it’s sinking further.

Three… you can feel the weight of your arm.

Four… it’s becoming more relaxed.

Five… your arm is completely heavy and relaxed.

Notice how your arm is responding to the suggestion. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to relax further.

Next, imagine your eyelids are becoming heavier, feeling like they’re closing by themselves. As I count from one to five, your eyelids will become heavier and more relaxed.

One… your eyelids are starting to feel heavy.

Two… they’re becoming harder to keep open.

Three… they’re starting to close.

Four… they’re almost closed.

Five… your eyelids are completely closed and relaxed.

Notice how your eyelids are responding to the suggestion. Take a deep breath and allow yourself to relax further.”

Deepening Techniques

“Now, I’ll count from one to five, and with each number, you’ll feel yourself becoming more deeply relaxed, more deeply hypnotized.

One… you’re starting to feel more relaxed.

Two… you’re becoming more calm.

Three… you’re letting go of all tension.

Four… you’re feeling more peaceful.

Five… you’re completely relaxed and deeply hypnotized.

Take a deep breath in, hold it for a moment, and exhale slowly. As you breathe out, allow yourself to let go of any remaining tension or stress.

You’re now in a deep state of hypnosis, where you can access your subconscious mind and make positive changes to your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.”

Conclusion

“Take a deep breath in, hold it for a moment, and exhale slowly. As you open your eyes, notice how you’re feeling. You can take a moment to reflect on the experience you just had.

Remember, the depth of hypnosis you achieved during this test will help us tailor our future hypnotherapy sessions to your individual needs and maximize the effectiveness of our work together.”
