Remove Driving with Fear with Hypnotherapy 2 of 3

I need you to imagine that with each passing moment, you’re becoming more and more confident, more and more relaxed, more and more in control while driving. You’re feeling a sense of freedom, a sense of empowerment, a sense of calm.

You have the power to control your thoughts, your emotions, and your reactions.

Here is a sample hypnotherapy script to help remove driving with fear:

*Induction*

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your body to relax. Feel the weight of your seat, the sensation of the air on your skin, and the sound of my voice guiding you. Imagine yourself in a peaceful, safe place, where you feel completely relaxed and at ease.

As you continue to breathe deeply, I want you to imagine that with each exhale, you’re releasing any tension, any stress, any anxiety. Allow your eyelids to grow heavy, your jaw to relax, and your shoulders to drop. You’re becoming more and more relaxed with each passing moment.

Now, imagine yourself drifting down into a peaceful, relaxing state. You’re becoming more and more relaxed, more and more relaxed. Your conscious mind is quieting down, and your subconscious mind is opening up, ready to receive positive suggestions.”

*Deepening*

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to relax even further. Imagine yourself sinking deeper into this peaceful state, where you’re completely relaxed and calm. You’re letting go of any thoughts, any worries, any fears. You’re simply focusing on the sound of my voice and the sensation of relaxation in your body.

As you continue to breathe deeply, I want you to repeat after me: ‘I am relaxed, I am calm, I am in control.’ Say it with me: ‘I am relaxed, I am calm, I am in control.'”

* Regression and Reframing*

“Now, I want you to imagine yourself driving. You’re behind the wheel, feeling confident and in control. You’re gliding smoothly through the roads, feeling safe and secure. Notice how your body feels relaxed, how your mind is clear and focused.

As you continue to drive, I want you to remember a specific time when you felt fearful or anxious while driving. It could be a recent experience or a memory from the past. Allow yourself to relive that moment, but with a twist.

This time, as you’re driving, I want you to imagine that you’re surrounded by a warm, comforting light. This light is filling your entire body, making you feel safe, calm, and confident. You’re breathing deeply, and with each exhale, you’re releasing any fear, any anxiety, any self-doubt.

As you continue to drive, I want you to repeat after me: ‘I am in control, I am safe, I am confident.’ Say it with me: ‘I am in control, I am safe, I am confident.’ Feel the words sinking deep into your subconscious mind, replacing any negative thoughts or feelings.

Now, I want you to imagine that with each passing moment, you’re becoming more and more confident, more and more relaxed, more and more in control while driving. You’re feeling a sense of freedom, a sense of empowerment, a sense of calm.

You’re realizing that driving is a normal, natural part of life, and that you have the power to control your thoughts, your emotions, and your reactions. You’re becoming more and more confident in your ability to drive safely and calmly.”

*Reinforcement and Anchoring*

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to seal in these positive feelings and thoughts. Imagine that with each passing day, you’re becoming more and more confident, more and more relaxed, more and more in control while driving.

As you continue to breathe deeply, I want you to anchor these feelings in your subconscious mind. Imagine that you’re placing a small, gentle hand on your heart, and as you do, you’re saying to yourself: ‘I am confident, I am safe, I am in control.’

Whenever you find yourself in a driving situation, I want you to take a deep breath, place your hand on your heart, and repeat those words to yourself: ‘I am confident, I am safe, I am in control.’ Feel the calm, confident energy spreading through your body, reminding you that you’re in control, you’re safe, and you’re confident.

You’re doing great, and I’m proud of you. You’re taking back control of your thoughts, your emotions, and your reactions. You’re becoming the confident, calm, and relaxed driver you deserve to be.”

* Awakening*

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to slowly return to a state of full awareness. Notice how you’re feeling more relaxed, more calm, and more confident. You can open your eyes when you’re ready, feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to take on any driving situation with confidence and ease.

Remember, you have the power to control your thoughts, your emotions, and your reactions. You’re in control, you’re safe, and you’re confident. Drive safely, and drive with confidence.”

A high proportion of people with weight control issues also have self-esteem problems. Yet even if you feel that you don’t have low self-esteem you will almost certainly find that Section 1 hypnotherapy session is very helpful.

This is because we can all benefit from higher self-esteem – provided it is of a healthy type. Yet this session does not focus on boosting self-esteem directly, rather, it aims to help you to develop greater self-acceptance and self-compassion. These, once you have worked on them and put them into practice, will not only help your self-esteem, they will also help you in other positive ways. In fact, if you work on these and develop them strongly they can transform your life.

Section 2 – Reflection

Section 2 hypnosis session is about a key process in success: Reflection. This is where we consciously look back on what we’ve done with the intention of learning from it. People with weight control issues very often struggle without considering why they are struggling and then using that knowledge to make it easier. Successes and failures allow us to develop and grow – providing we reflect on them in the right way. This hypnotherapy session will also help you overcome barriers to weight loss. It does this by increasing your confidence in your ability to deal with whatever comes along, and helps you “reframe” these challenges so that you can see them in a different, more positive way.

Month 2 : Safety & Weight Loss

Section 3 – Food and Eating

The hypnosis session for Section 3 addresses the weight issue directly. So while addressing emotional and thought issues is an essential part of achieving weight control, here we use advanced hypnotherapy techniques to deal with the practical problems that also play a vital part in your losing weight. Thus Section 3 hypnosis session focuses on the practical matters of buying food, dealing with portion size, telling your body that it has had a sufficient amount, etc. In addition, the hypnotherapy within this session also helps increase your motivation.

Rather than our encouraging you merely to concentrate on the benefits of weight control – something you are probably already quite aware of – we help you so that each step of the way feels more rewarding. This approach is well-supported by research, which shows that for you to maintain motivation, you need to find rewards as you go along, rather than chasing after rewards that will come mainly when you’ve reached your target weight. In other words, the session focuses on enjoying the journey, rather than enduring the journey in order to get to a particular destination.

Section 4 – Exercise

Section 4 hypnosis session is about exercise motivation. Exercise is something you might not like at the moment or perhaps you feel uncomfortable with because of your weight. This session, therefore, is designed to address these issues and make exercise much more appealing, at a subconscious level. It may surprise you how little you need to do in order to help yourself. The weight-loss strategies we recommend include:

Self-monitoring. One of the most effective tactics for reducing or managing weight is self-monitoring. That means systematically observing and recording what you eat or how much you exercise. You might use a journal to record everything you eat, for example. Or use a pedometer to make sure you take 10,000 steps a day. This approach works. In fact, several studies have found that consistent self-monitoring contributes to about a quarter of weight-control success. We encourage Self-monitoring and reporting your progress to the group.

Accentuated cognitive-behavioral therapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is an approach that focuses on changing unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving. Sometimes that’s not enough. We focus in our program on CBT and Hypnotherapy.

Meditation. Meditation is more than just a stress-reliever. It may also help you lose weight, especially if you tend to binge. Meditation can help you become aware of how you use food to take care of emotional needs, say psychologists. More importantly, meditation can help make you a more mindful eater. Research has shown that individuals with eating problems generally aren’t paying attention to whether they’re actually hungry or full. “Mindfulness” exercises can help heighten your awareness of such cues and keep your mind focused on the experience of eating. We encourage daily Meditation.

Positive messages about eating. When it comes to children, psychologists focus on preventing weight gain. Encouraging positive attitudes about eating is one key strategy they recommend to parents. Studies have shown that making children diet or restricting their intake can lead to unhealthy eating behavior and even weight gain later on. In one study, for example, researchers examined adults whose parents had used food to control their behavior when they were children. They were more likely than others to have struggles with binge eating and weight cycling as adults. We only focus in our program on Positive and uplifting messages.
