No MORE Self-doubt caused by comparison with Hypnotherapy

Self-doubt is not caused by failure, it’s caused by comparison.

Here’s a hypnotherapy script aimed at reducing self-doubt caused by comparison:

Induction

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll let go of self-doubt and comparison. Allow yourself to settle in, getting comfortable and relaxed. Take a deep breath in… and out… Feel your body let go, starting from your toes, up to the top of your head. As you exhale, imagine any tension, stress, or anxiety leaving your body.”

Deepening

“Imagine yourself standing on a serene mountain peak, surrounded by a breathtaking landscape. With each breath, feel your feet connecting with the ground, becoming more grounded and centered. As you inhale, visualize fresh, calming air filling your lungs. As you exhale, imagine any doubts, worries, or fears floating away on the wind. Allow yourself to let go, surrendering to the present moment.”

Identifying the Comparison Trap

“Now, imagine a situation where you felt the need to compare yourself to others. Perhaps you saw someone’s success, achievements, or appearance, and suddenly felt inadequate. Allow the memory to surface, but don’t engage with it yet. Simply observe it, acknowledging the emotions that arise. How did you feel in that moment? What emotions did you experience?”

Understanding the Futility of Comparison

“Take a step back and examine this habit of comparison. Recognize that it’s a never-ending cycle, where you’ll always find someone who seems more successful, talented, or accomplished. Understand that comparison is a flawed measure of self-worth, as it focuses on external validation rather than internal growth. Acknowledge that your journey, strengths, and accomplishments are unique to you.”

Releasing the Need for Validation

“Imagine a mirror in front of you, representing the opinions and expectations of others. See the mirror begin to shatter, symbolizing your release from the need for external validation. As the shards of glass fall away, feel the weight of comparison lifting, allowing you to focus on your own path. Repeat to yourself:

* ‘My worth is not defined by others’ opinions.’

* ‘My journey is unique, and my accomplishments are mine alone.’

* ‘I trust myself and my abilities.'”

Fostering Self-Awareness and Self-Acceptance

“Visualize a warm, comforting light filling your body, representing self-awareness and self-acceptance. As this light grows, it illuminates your strengths, talents, and achievements. Celebrate your successes, no matter how small they may seem. Acknowledge your efforts, and honor your growth. Allow this sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance to become your guiding force.”

Empowering Self-Trust

“From this place of self-awareness and self-acceptance, repeat the following affirmations to yourself:

* ‘I trust myself and my abilities.’

* ‘I am capable of making wise decisions.’

* ‘I celebrate my unique strengths and accomplishments.'”

Integration and Awakening

“Take a few deep breaths, feeling the insights and new perspectives integrating into your subconscious mind. As you slowly come back to full awareness, remember that you’ve been freed from the cycle of comparison and self-doubt. Carry this sense of self-trust and self-acceptance with you, applying it to your daily life. When you feel the urge to compare, recall this feeling of self-awareness and remind yourself that your worth and value come from within.”

Counting Up

“When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more confident in yourself. As you return to your day, remember that you’ve taken a significant step towards self-awareness, growth, and positive change.”
