Stopping Smoking with Hypnotherapy

Feel the sense of pride and satisfaction that comes with taking control of your life.

Here is a sample hypnotherapy script for Stopping Smoking:

Induction

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore and overcome your addiction to smoking. Get comfortable, take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to relax. Feel the weight of your habit lifting off your shoulders. Imagine yourself in a peaceful, safe space, where you can confront and overcome your addiction.

Take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, repeat after me: ‘I am relaxed, I am calm, I am in control of my body.'”

Deepening

“Now, imagine yourself walking down a peaceful path, surrounded by nature. With each step, feel yourself becoming more relaxed, more calm, and more centered. The sound of a gentle stream in the distance grows louder, and you find yourself standing in front of a serene lake. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this place, and feel the tranquility wash over you.

As you gaze out onto the lake, notice how the water reflects your thoughts and emotions. See your true self staring back at you, free from the grip of nicotine. Allow yourself to let go of any anxiety, frustration, or cravings, and simply be in this moment.”

Past Experiences

“Bring to mind the first time you started smoking. Was it a social occasion, a stress relief, or just a curiosity? Notice how you felt in that moment – the excitement, the rebellion, the sense of freedom.

As you exhale, repeat after me: ‘I acknowledge my past, I release my habits.’ Allow yourself to let go of any nostalgia or attachment to smoking, and recognize that it’s a habit that can be broken.

Now, bring to mind the progression of your smoking habit. How did it become a daily routine, a coping mechanism, or a social habit? Notice the triggers, the cravings, and the justifications. See how it affected your health, your relationships, and your self-esteem.

As you exhale, repeat after me: ‘I take responsibility for my actions, I choose to quit.’ Feel the sense of empowerment growing within you, as you acknowledge your role in perpetuating the habit, and commit to overcoming it.”

New Perspective

“Imagine that you are holding a small, delicate flower in your hand. This flower represents your lungs, your health, and your well-being. Notice how fragile it is, how easily it can be damaged by the toxins of smoking.

As you exhale, repeat after me: ‘I nurture my health, I protect my body.’ Feel the sense of care and compassion growing within you, as you commit to safeguarding your health and well-being.

Now, imagine that you are surrounded by supportive people, healthy habits, and positive influences. See yourself engaging in activities that bring you joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. Feel the sense of pride and satisfaction that comes with taking control of your life.”

Reinforcement

“As you continue to breathe deeply, repeat after me: ‘I am strong, I am capable, I am in control of my body.’ Feel the sense of empowerment growing within you, and know that you can tap into this feeling whenever you need it.

Imagine that you are wearing a badge of courage, a symbol of your commitment to quitting smoking. Feel the weight of this badge, and the sense of pride that comes with taking control of your life.”

Awakening

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, slowly open your eyes. Notice how you feel, and remember that you can return to this peaceful state whenever you need it. You have the power to stop smoking, and live a life of freedom, health, and self-respect. Trust yourself, trust your decisions, and remember that your future is in your hands.”

Final Affirmation

“I am in control of my body, I am strong and capable of overcoming addiction, I am worthy of living a life of health and self-respect.”
