Trust in yourself, trust in your abilities, and trust that you’ll make the right decisions. Repeat after me: ‘I trust myself completely.’ ‘I believe in myself.’ ‘I’m capable of achieving my goals.’

Here is a script for a sports hypnotherapy session focused on building trust in oneself:

Induction

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your body to relax and let go of any tension. Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful beach at sunset, feeling the warm sand beneath your feet and the gentle ocean breeze on your skin. With each wave that crashes, feel your worries and doubts washing away, leaving you calm, focused, and centered. Take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to let go of any self-doubt, and fully trust in your abilities.”

Deepening

“Imagine yourself walking along the beach, feeling the sand shifting beneath your feet. With each step, feel yourself becoming more grounded, more confident, and more trusting of yourself. As you breathe in, imagine fresh energy and self-trust entering your body, and as you exhale, imagine any doubts or fears leaving your body. You are now in a state of deep relaxation, where your mind is open to positive suggestions and your body is ready to perform at its best, trusting in yourself every step of the way.”

Affirmations

“Repeat after me: ‘I trust myself completely.’ ‘I believe in my abilities.’ ‘I know I’ve prepared well.’ ‘I’m capable of overcoming any obstacle.’ ‘I trust my instincts and make decisions with confidence.'”

Visualization

“Imagine yourself in your sport, performing at your best. Visualize yourself making split-second decisions with confidence, trusting your training and preparation. See yourself executing skills with precision and accuracy, knowing that you’ve got this. Imagine the feeling of trust and confidence that comes with knowing you’ve done everything you can to prepare. See yourself celebrating your successes, no matter how small they may seem, and know that you’re capable of achieving even more.”

Reframing

“Now, I want you to imagine a situation where you may have doubted yourself in the past. Maybe it was a game, a competition, or a challenging situation. Imagine yourself in that situation again, but this time, see yourself responding with confidence and trust in yourself. See yourself making the right decisions, taking control, and coming out on top. Feel the sense of pride and accomplishment that comes with trusting yourself and your abilities.”

Anchoring

“Now, imagine a trigger, something that will remind you of this feeling of trust and confidence. It could be a phrase, a gesture, or a sensation in your body. Whenever you use this trigger, you will instantly tap into this state of self-trust and confidence, and you will perform at your best. Practice your trigger now, and feel the trust and confidence surge through your body.”

Reinforcement

“Remember, you are capable of achieving great things. You’ve worked hard to get where you are, and you have the skills and knowledge to succeed. Trust in yourself, trust in your abilities, and trust that you’ll make the right decisions. Repeat after me: ‘I trust myself completely.’ ‘I believe in myself.’ ‘I’m capable of achieving my goals.'”

Counting

“Now, I’ll count from 5 to 1, and when I reach 1, you will slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and ready to perform at your best, trusting in yourself every step of the way. 5… 4… 3… 2… 1. Open your eyes, and take a deep breath in, feeling the confidence and trust in yourself surge through your body.”
