The goal of the suggestibility test is to assess the client’s ability to respond to hypnotherapeutic suggestions and to identify any areas where they may need additional support or guidance.

Here is a script for a hypnotherapy suggestibility test:

Introduction

“Hello, and welcome to this suggestibility test. This test is designed to help us understand how your mind responds to suggestions, and will help me tailor our future hypnotherapy sessions to your individual needs. Please find a comfortable and relaxed position, either sitting or lying down, and take a deep breath in… and out. Allow yourself to relax and let go of any tension or stress you may be feeling.”

Test 1: Arm Levitation

“Hold your arm straight out in front of you, with your palm facing upwards. Now, imagine that your arm is becoming lighter, feeling as if it’s being lifted by an invisible force. As you breathe in, imagine fresh, cool air filling your arm, making it lighter and lighter. As you breathe out, imagine any tension or heaviness leaving your arm. Allow your arm to rise up, all by itself, without you trying to lift it. Just let go and see what happens.”

(Wait for 10-15 seconds to observe the response)

Test 2: Handshake

“Now, imagine that I’m shaking your hand. Feel the pressure of my hand in yours, the sensation of our palms touching. Imagine that my hand is warm and gentle, and that it’s helping you to relax even further. Hold onto the sensation of my handshake, and allow yourself to feel more relaxed and calm.”

(Wait for 10-15 seconds to observe the response)

Test 3: Eye Closure

“Now, imagine that your eyelids are becoming heavy, feeling like they’re being gently pulled downwards. As you breathe in, imagine your eyelids growing heavier and heavier, feeling like they’re being lifted down by an invisible force. Allow your eyes to close, all by themselves, without you trying to close them. Just let go and see what happens.”

(Wait for 10-15 seconds to observe the response)

Test 4: Body Swelling

“Imagine that your body is becoming lighter, feeling like you’re floating or drifting upwards. As you breathe in, imagine fresh, cool air filling your body, making you feel lighter and more relaxed. Now, imagine that your body is expanding, feeling like it’s growing larger and more spacious. Allow yourself to feel this sensation, and see how it feels.”

(Wait for 10-15 seconds to observe the response)

Conclusion

“Take a deep breath in, and out. And when you’re ready, you can open your eyes. How did you feel during the test? What sensations did you experience?”
