Here is a sample script for a hypnotherapy suggestibility test:
Introduction
“Welcome to this suggestibility test. The purpose of this test is to help us understand how your subconscious mind responds to suggestions. Please find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and take a few deep breaths. Allow yourself to relax and let go of any tension or stress. You can close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so.”
Test 1: Arm Levitation
“Now, I want you to imagine that your arm is feeling very light, as if it’s filled with helium. It’s becoming lighter and lighter, and it’s starting to lift off the surface on its own. Allow your arm to rise up in the air, slowly and effortlessly. Don’t try to lift it yourself; just let it happen naturally. As you exhale, feel your arm rising higher and higher.”
( Wait for a few moments to observe the client’s response )
Test 2: Hand Temperature
“Next, I want you to focus on your hands. Imagine that one of your hands is becoming warmer and warmer, while the other hand is becoming cooler and cooler. You may start to feel a slight tingling or sensation in your hands. Allow yourself to experience this sensation, and don’t worry if it feels unusual. Just observe it and let it happen.”
( Wait for a few moments to observe the client’s response )
Test 3: Eye Closure
“Now, I want you to try to open your eyes. Don’t actually open them, but try to lift your eyelids. You may find that they feel heavy, or stuck shut. Allow yourself to experience this sensation, and don’t worry if you can’t open your eyes. Just relax and let it happen.”
( Wait for a few moments to observe the client’s response )
Test 4: Imaginary Object
“Imagine that I’m holding a small, heavy object in front of you, about 6 inches from your face. It’s about the size of a baseball, and it’s made of metal. As you look at it, you may start to feel a slight attraction to the object, as if it’s pulling you towards it. Allow yourself to feel this attraction, and don’t worry if it feels unusual. Just observe it and let it happen.”
( Wait for a few moments to observe the client’s response )
Conclusion
“Take a few deep breaths, and when you’re ready, you can slowly open your eyes. Take a moment to observe how you’re feeling. Did you experience any unusual sensations or feelings during the test? This is just a sample of how your subconscious mind responds to suggestions. We can use this information to tailor our hypnotherapy sessions to your specific needs and goals.”
Note: The above script is just a sample and can be modified according to the therapist’s style and the client’s needs. The goal of the suggestibility test is to assess the client’s responsiveness to hypnotic suggestions, and to help them become more aware of their subconscious mind.
