Induction

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll discover the power of visualization and behavioral change. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to let go of any fears, doubts, or limitations. Imagine yourself in a peaceful, safe space, where you feel completely comfortable and at ease.

“As you continue to breathe deeply, allow your eyelids to grow heavy, and your eyes to gently close. Feel your body relaxing, starting from the crown of your head, down to your toes. With each breath, allow yourself to let go of any negative thoughts, emotions, or patterns, and simply focus on the present moment.

“You are safe, you are relaxed, and you are ready to explore the power of visualization and behavioral change.”

Deepening

“Now, imagine yourself standing in a beautiful, serene garden. The garden is filled with vibrant colours, sweet scents, and the soothing sound of running water. As you breathe in, notice how the air fills your lungs, and you feel a sense of calmness, of being completely at peace.

“As you stand in the garden, allow yourself to focus on your own behaviour. Notice what you do, how you react, and what you achieve. Allow yourself to observe your behaviour without judgment, and simply acknowledge what you see.”

Visualization

“Now, imagine a beautiful, shimmering light beginning to form in front of you. This light represents your ideal behaviour, your desired actions, and your successful outcomes. As you gaze upon the light, notice its beauty, its radiance, and its power.

“As you continue to breathe deeply, allow yourself to step into the light. Feel its warmth, its comfort, and its guidance. You are the light, and the light is you. You are one with your ideal behaviour, one with your desired actions, and one with your successful outcomes.

“Notice how the light begins to fill your entire body, filling you with a sense of confidence, motivation, and determination. You are capable of achieving your goals, you are worthy of success, and you are ready to take action.”

Suggestions

“Remember, you are the light. You are your own guidance, your own wisdom, and your own power. You are capable of changing your behaviour, achieving your goals, and living a life of success and fulfillment.

Counting and Awakening

“Now, as you continue to breathe deeply, I’ll count from 1 to 5, and when I reach 5, you’ll slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more confident in your ability to change your behavior.

“1… 2… 3… 4… 5. Open your eyes, and take a deep breath in, feeling refreshed and renewed.

Basic Desires Work List

Studies involving more than 6,000 people, Professor Steven Reiss has proposed a theory on Basic Desires that found 16 basic desires that guide nearly all human behaviour.

Desire is the emotion of longing or hoping for a person, object, or outcome. The same sense is expressed by words such as “craving”. When a person desires something or someone, their sense of longing is excited by the enjoyment or the thought of the item or person, and they want to take actions to obtain their goal.

The desires are:

  1. Acceptance, the need for approval
  2. Curiosity, the need to learn
  3. Eating, the need for food
  4. Family, the need to raise children
  5. Honour, the need to be loyal to the tradition values of one’s clan/ethnic group
  6. Idealism, the need for social justice
  7. Independence, the need for individuality
  8. Order, the need for organized, stable, predictable environments
  9. Physical activity, the need for exercise
  10. Power, the need for influence of will
  11. Romance, intimacy, the need for sex
  12. Saving, the need to collect
  13. Social contact, the need for friends (peer relationships)
  14. Status, the need for social standing / importance
  15. Tranquility, the need to be safe
  16. Vengeance, the need to strike back / to win
