Imagine yourself driving, feeling safe, feeling secure, and feeling confident. See yourself navigating through roads, feeling relaxed, and in control.
Here is a sample hypnotherapy script to help remove driving with fear:
*Induction*
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll learn to overcome your fear of driving. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to relax, feeling your body becoming heavier, more relaxed. Imagine yourself in a peaceful, safe space, where you feel completely at ease.
As you breathe in, imagine fresh, calming air filling your lungs, and as you breathe out, imagine any tension, anxiety, or fear leaving your body. Allow yourself to let go of any worries, and simply focus on the sound of my voice.
Imagine yourself sinking deeper and deeper into relaxation, feeling your eyelids growing heavy, your jaw releasing, and your shoulders dropping. You’re safe, you’re relaxed, and you’re in control.
*Deepening*
“Now, imagine yourself on a peaceful beach, with the warm sun on your skin, and the sound of the waves gently lapping at the shore. With each wave, feel your body relaxing further, letting go of any remaining tension or fear.
As you walk along the beach, notice the sensation of the sand beneath your feet, the sound of the seagulls in the distance, and the warmth of the sun on your skin. You’re completely relaxed, and at peace.
*Regression*
“Now, I want you to think back to the last time you drove, and felt anxious or fearful. Imagine yourself in that situation, but this time, observe it from outside of yourself, as if you’re watching a movie.
Notice the thoughts that were running through your mind, and how they made you feel. Notice the physical sensations in your body, and how they affected your driving.
*Reframe*
“Now, I want you to imagine a bright, confident light filling your body, starting at the crown of your head, and flowing down to your toes. This light is confidence, it’s calmness, and it’s control.
As this light fills your body, imagine it pushing out any remaining fear, anxiety, or self-doubt. You’re driving, and you’re in complete control. You’re confident, capable, and calm.
Imagine yourself driving, feeling safe, feeling secure, and feeling confident. See yourself navigating through roads, feeling relaxed, and in control.
*Anchoring*
“Now, I want you to anchor this feeling of confidence and calmness to a specific gesture, such as touching your thumb and index finger together. As you touch your thumb and index finger together, imagine this confident, calm feeling flooding your body, reminding you that you’re in control, and that you can drive safely and confidently.
*Future Pacing*
“Imagine yourself driving in the future, feeling confident, calm, and in control. See yourself navigating through roads, feeling relaxed, and safe. Imagine the look of confidence on your face, and the feeling of calmness in your body.
As you continue to drive, remember the confident, calm feeling that you’ve anchored to your gesture. Touch your thumb and index finger together, and feel this confidence and calmness flooding your body, reminding you that you’re in control, and that you can drive safely and confidently.
*Awakening*
“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to slowly come back to a state of full awareness, feeling refreshed, renewed, and confident. Remember, you’re in control, and you can drive safely and confidently. You’ve overcome your fear of driving, and you’re now a confident, capable driver.”
*Final Suggestion*
“Before you start driving, take a few moments to relax, breathe deeply, and anchor your confident, calm feeling. Remember, you’re in control, and you can drive safely and confidently.”
