To heal from grief and loss, allow yourself to feel and express emotions, seek support from loved ones and grief groups, and take care of your physical health by eating well, exercising, and getting rest.

Here’s a sample hypnotherapy script for healing grief and loss:

*Induction*

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll allow yourself to relax and let go of the pain of grief and loss. Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful beach at sunset. Feel the warm sand beneath your feet, the gentle breeze on your skin, and the sound of the waves gently lapping at the shore.

As you breathe in, allow any tension or stress to release from your body. As you breathe out, imagine any sadness or pain leaving your body.

*Deepening*

“Now, imagine a warm, comforting light beginning to fill your body. This light represents peace, calmness, and healing. As it flows into your body, it dissolves any remaining tension or discomfort.

Allow this light to fill your entire being, starting at the crown of your head, flowing down through your face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, chest, abdomen, lower back, hips, legs, and finally, your toes.

As this light fills your body, repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I am safe, I am calm, I am at peace.'”

*Grief and Loss*

“Now, imagine yourself standing in front of a beautiful, serene lake. On the surface of the lake, imagine a leaf floating gently on the water.

This leaf represents the grief and loss you’re carrying. Imagine that with each breath, the leaf is slowly drifting further and further away from you.

As you watch the leaf drift away, allow yourself to let go of the emotions associated with your grief and loss. Imagine that you’re releasing the pain, the sadness, and the sorrow.

Repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I release the pain of my grief and loss. I let go of the sadness and sorrow.'”

*Reconnection*

“Now, imagine that you’re reconnecting with the person or relationship you’ve lost. Imagine that they’re standing in front of you, smiling and at peace.

See yourself embracing them, feeling their love and support. Imagine that they’re telling you that it’s okay to move on, that they’re watching over you, and that they’re proud of the strong, resilient person you are.

Repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I am connected to the love and support of those who have passed. I am strong, resilient, and capable of moving forward.'”

*Integration*

“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine that you’re integrating the lessons and wisdom you’ve gained from your experience of grief and loss.

Imagine that you’re becoming a wiser, more compassionate, and more empathetic person. See yourself using this newfound wisdom to help others who may be experiencing similar challenges.

Repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I am wiser, I am stronger, I am at peace.'”

*Counting Up*

“When you’re ready, slowly begin to bring yourself back to full awareness. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine that you’re feeling refreshed, renewed, and at peace.

Count slowly to yourself: 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… When you reach 1, you’ll be back to full awareness, feeling calm, centered, and at peace.”
