Here’s a sample hypnotherapy script for gaining autonomy and independence:

Induction

(Soft, calming music starts playing. Speak in a gentle, soothing tone.)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll discover the power to gain autonomy and independence. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Feel the air fill your lungs, and then release any tension or stress as you exhale.

Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, with each step leading you deeper into relaxation. With each breath, feel yourself becoming more calm, more centered, and more focused. As you descend the stairs, allow your eyelids to grow heavy, and your body to relax, letting go of any thoughts or worries.

You are now standing at the bottom of the stairs, in a peaceful, serene environment. Take a moment to notice the sensation of your feet touching the ground, the sensation of the air on your skin, and the sound of your breath moving in and out of your body.

Deepening

“Imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your body, starting at the crown of your head and flowing down to your toes. As this light travels, it dissolves any feelings of dependence, any need for external validation, or any fear of being alone. You feel your mind clarifying, your heart opening, and your spirit lifting.

With each breath, this light grows brighter, filling you with a sense of self-trust, self-confidence, and self-reliance. You are becoming more aware of your own strengths, your own abilities, and your own resilience. You are recognizing that you have the power to make your own decisions, to set your own boundaries, and to create your own path in life.

Visualization

“Imagine yourself standing in a beautiful, open landscape. It could be a vast desert, a towering mountain range, or a serene ocean shore. Take a moment to notice the sights, sounds, and sensations around you. Feel the wind in your hair, the sun on your skin, and the earth beneath your feet.

Now, imagine that you are holding a small, delicate bird in your hands. This bird represents your sense of autonomy and independence. As you hold the bird, feel its gentle weight, its soft feathers, and its quiet heartbeat. You are feeling a sense of responsibility, a sense of care, and a sense of protection towards this bird.

As you look at the bird, imagine that it is beginning to stir, to stretch its wings, and to take flight. You are feeling a sense of joy, a sense of wonder, and a sense of liberation as you watch the bird soar into the sky. You are recognizing that you have the power to set yourself free, to spread your own wings, and to fly towards your dreams and aspirations.

Releasing External Expectations

“Now, imagine that you are surrounded by a group of people, each representing a different external expectation or pressure. It could be a family member, a friend, a colleague, or a societal norm. Take a moment to notice the voices, the faces, and the energies around you.

As you look at each person, imagine that you are saying to them, ‘I appreciate your input, but I trust myself to make my own decisions. I am capable of taking care of myself, and I am responsible for my own life.’ You are feeling a sense of assertiveness, a sense of confidence, and a sense of self-trust.

As you release each external expectation, imagine that the person is disappearing, fading away, or transforming into a supportive, loving presence. You are feeling a sense of freedom, a sense of empowerment, and a sense of autonomy.

Affirmations

“Repeat the following affirmations to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your subconscious mind:

* I trust myself to make my own decisions and choices.

* I am capable of taking care of myself and my own life.

* I am independent, autonomous, and self-reliant.

* I release all external expectations and pressures.

* I am free to be myself, to follow my own path, and to pursue my own dreams.

Future Pacing

“Imagine yourself in various situations, where you are exercising your autonomy and independence. You are making your own decisions, setting your own boundaries, and creating your own path in life. Notice how you feel, notice how you respond, and notice how others react to you. You are confident, self-assured, and empowered, and you are living a life that truly reflects your values and aspirations.

As you visualize these scenarios, imagine the sense of joy, the sense of fulfillment, and the sense of liberation that you experience. You are living a life that is authentic, meaningful, and true to who you are.

Counting Up

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, slowly begin to count up from one to five. With each number, feel yourself becoming more alert, more aware, and more grounded in the present moment.

1… You are becoming more relaxed, more focused, and more connected to your inner self.

2… You are letting go of any external expectations, pressures, or dependencies.

3… You are imagining yourself as a strong, capable, and independent individual.

4… You are feeling more confident, more self-assured, and more empowered.

5… You are now fully awake, fully alert, and fully empowered to live a life of autonomy, independence, and self-expression.

Take a deep breath in, and when you are ready, slowly open your eyes. Remember the feelings, the thoughts, and the sensations that you experienced during this hypnotherapy session. Carry them with you, and know that you have the power to live a life of autonomy, independence, and self-expression, every day, in every situation.”
