Allow Acceptance for your Actions of Guilt and Shame link to Being Deceptive with Hypnotherapy

Guilt and shame are negative emotional responses that can both be triggered by and, in turn, influence deceptive behaviour.

Here’s a sample hypnotherapy script that addresses feelings of guilt and shame related to being deceptive, and promotes acceptance and personal growth:

Title: Acceptance and Release from Guilt and Shame

Introduction:

(Soothing music starts playing. The hypnotherapist’s voice is calm and gentle.)

Hypnotherapist: “Welcome to this hypnotherapy session. Allow yourself to settle in, get comfortable, and take a deep breath in… and out… Feel the weight of your body on the chair, the sensation of the air on your skin, and the sound of my voice guiding you through this process. You’ve taken a brave step by acknowledging your actions and seeking help.

Remember, this is a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your feelings and work towards healing and growth.”

Induction:

“Close your eyes and take another deep breath in… As you exhale, imagine any tension or stress leaving your body. Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, with each step leading you deeper into relaxation. With each step, feel your body becoming heavier, more relaxed, and more open to positive change. Take 5-7 steps down, and with each step, repeat the phrase ‘I let go’ to yourself.”

Deepening:

“Imagine yourself in a peaceful, safe place. This could be a beach, a forest, or any place that feels comfortable and relaxing to you. Take a moment to notice the sights, sounds, and sensations in this place. Feel the ground beneath your feet, the air on your skin, and the sense of calm in your heart. As you breathe in, imagine fresh, calming energy entering your body. As you breathe out, imagine any remaining tension or stress leaving your body.”

Addressing Guilt and Shame:

“Now, bring to mind the experience of being deceptive. Allow yourself to acknowledge the feelings of guilt and shame that arise.

Notice where these feelings reside in your body. Is it in your chest, your stomach, or somewhere else?

Imagine these feelings as a cloud or a colour in your body. As you breathe in, imagine fresh, calming energy entering this cloud or colour. As you breathe out, imagine the cloud or colour beginning to dissipate, releasing the guilt and shame from your body.

Remember, that you were likely trying to avoid conflict, protect yourself, or achieve a specific goal, but that being deceptive can also cause harm to yourself and others.”

Releasing Guilt and Shame:

“Repeat the following phrase to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your mind and heart: ‘I acknowledge my actions, and I release the guilt and shame associated with them. I understand that I was trying to cope with my own fears and insecurities, but I also recognize the harm that deception can cause. I choose to learn from my experience, take responsibility for my actions, and work towards being more honest and authentic in my relationships.’ As you repeat this phrase, imagine the cloud or color in your body continuing to dissipate, releasing any remaining guilt and shame.”

Acceptance and Self-Compassion:

“Now, imagine a warm, comforting light filling your body. This light represents acceptance, self-compassion, and understanding. As you breathe in, imagine this light nourishing your heart and mind. As you breathe out, imagine any self-criticism or self-doubt leaving your body.

Repeat the following phrase to yourself, allowing the words to become a part of your inner dialogue: ‘I am enough, exactly as I am. I am worthy of love, compassion, and forgiveness – from myself and others.’

Remember, that everyone makes mistakes, and it’s how we learn and grow from them that matters.”

Integration and Closure:

“Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling now. Notice any shifts in your body or your emotional state. Imagine yourself integrating the insights and releases from this session into your daily life. As you breathe in, imagine fresh energy and positivity entering your body. As you breathe out, imagine any remaining challenges or difficulties leaving your body. When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, and take a deep breath in, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more at peace.

Remember to be gentle and kind to yourself, as you continue on your journey of healing and growth.”

Post-Hypnotic Suggestion:

“Remember, you can return to this peaceful, safe place whenever you need to. Whenever you feel overwhelmed or challenged, take a deep breath in, and repeat the phrase ‘I am enough, exactly as I am.’ Allow yourself to release any guilt, shame, or self-criticism, and instead, cultivate self-compassion, empathy, and kindness – towards yourself and others. And when you’re ready, consider taking small steps towards being more honest and authentic in your relationships, such as sharing your true feelings or thoughts with someone you trust.

Remember, that honesty and authenticity are muscles that can be developed over time with practice and patience.”

Allow yourself to sink deeper into relaxation, feeling your muscles release any tension or stress. You’re safe, you’re supported, and you’re exactly where you need to be. Trust in the process, and allow yourself to let go.”

Forgiveness

“Bring to mind the actions, the behaviors, or the choices that have led to feelings of guilt and shame related to being deceptive. Perhaps it’s lying, hiding the truth, or manipulating others through dishonest means.

As you reflect on these experiences, allow yourself to acknowledge the emotions that arise. It’s okay to feel guilty, ashamed, or regretful. But also remember that you are not defined by these emotions. You are more than your actions, and you are capable of growth, change, and forgiveness.

Imagine a warm, compassionate light beginning to fill your body, starting at the crown of your head and flowing down to your toes. As this light fills you, it brings with it the power of self-forgiveness.

Repeat the following phrases to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your mind and heart:

‘I forgive myself for being deceptive and dishonest. I forgive myself for lying, hiding the truth, or manipulating others through dishonest means. I forgive myself for allowing fear, insecurity, or self-doubt to drive my actions, and for not being truthful and transparent in my interactions with others. I forgive myself, and I let go of the burden of guilt and shame.’

As you repeat these phrases, feel the weight of guilt and shame lifting from your shoulders. Feel the compassion and understanding filling your heart, and know that you are deserving of love, kindness, and respect – regardless of your past choices or behaviors.”

Releasing the Past

“Imagine that you are standing in front of a large, old mirror. This mirror represents the reflection of your past actions, and the deception that has caused harm to yourself and others.

As you look into the mirror, notice that it’s starting to shatter, to break away, and to reveal a new, clearer reflection. Take a deep breath, and as you exhale, imagine yourself gently releasing the need to be deceptive, and the desire to manipulate or control others through dishonest means. Allow the mirror to shatter, and the weight of guilt and shame to lift.

Feel the freedom and liberation that comes with releasing the past, and with letting go of the need to be deceptive. Feel the empowerment that comes with being honest, transparent, and authentic in all your interactions, and with using your words and actions to build trust and connection with others.

Repeat the following phrases to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your mind and heart:

‘I release the need to be deceptive, and the desire to manipulate or control others through dishonest means. I choose to be honest, transparent, and authentic in all my interactions, and to use my words and actions to build trust and connection with others. I trust in my ability to be truthful and genuine, and to cultivate healthy, fulfilling relationships with others. I am free to be myself, without apology, and to live a life that is authentic and meaningful.'”

Empowerment

“Imagine that you are standing in front of a beautiful, vibrant garden, filled with diverse flowers, trees, and plants. As you look around, notice the unique beauty and contribution of each element, and the way that they work together to create a harmonious and thriving ecosystem.

Remember that you are a part of this garden, and that your words and actions have the power to nourish or harm the world around you. You are deserving of love, kindness, and respect – not because of your past mistakes or shortcomings, but because of who you are as an individual, and the positive contribution you can make to the world.

Repeat the following phrases to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your mind and heart:

‘I am enough, exactly as I am. I am worthy of love, kindness, and respect, regardless of my past mistakes or shortcomings. I trust in my ability to be honest, transparent, and authentic in all my interactions, and to use my words and actions to build trust and connection with others. I choose to cultivate healthy, fulfilling relationships with others, and to live a life that is authentic, meaningful, and aligned with my values. I am free to be myself, and to shine my light for all to see.'”

Awakening

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine yourself slowly returning to the present moment. Feel the weight of your body on the chair or couch, and notice the sensations in your surroundings.

When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, and take a moment to notice how you’re feeling. Notice any shifts in your perspective, any changes in your emotions, or any sense of freedom and liberation.

Remember that self-forgiveness is a journey, and it’s okay to take it one step at a time. Be gentle with yourself, and trust in the process of healing and growth. You are deserving of love, kindness, and respect – and you are capable of creating a brighter, more compassionate future for yourself.”
