Title: “Taking Control of My Bladder”
Introduction:
(Speak in a calm, gentle voice)
“Welcome, [boy’s name], to this special time of relaxation and focus. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, and take a deep breath in… and out. Allow yourself to settle in and feel calm. Imagine any tension or worry leaving your body with each breath.”
Induction:
“Imagine yourself walking down a peaceful path, surrounded by trees and a gentle breeze. With each step, you feel more relaxed and calm. As you walk, I’d like you to focus on your breath, feeling the air move in and out of your body. Allow yourself to let go of any thoughts or worries, and simply be present in this peaceful moment.”
Deepening:
“Now, imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your body, starting at the crown of your head and flowing down to your toes. As this light travels, it relaxes any remaining tension or stress, leaving you feeling calm and relaxed. Allow this light to fill your entire body, including your bladder and urinary system.”
Therapeutic Section:
“Imagine yourself having complete control over your bladder. Visualize your bladder as a strong, healthy muscle that can hold urine until you’re ready to release it. Imagine yourself feeling confident and capable of waking up to use the bathroom during the night if needed. See yourself getting out of bed, walking to the bathroom, and using the toilet with ease.
“Now, imagine a special switch in your brain that helps you stay dry at night. This switch is like a toggle that you can turn on and off. Imagine flipping this switch to the ‘on’ position, and feeling a sense of confidence and control over your bladder. As you flip this switch, repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I am in control of my bladder, and I stay dry at night.’
“Imagine yourself having a series of successful nights, waking up dry and feeling proud of your accomplishment. See yourself feeling more confident and self-assured, knowing that you have the power to control your bladder. Repeat this phrase again: ‘I am in control of my bladder, and I stay dry at night.'”
Counting Technique:
“Let’s use a special counting technique to help you remember to stay dry at night. Imagine yourself counting backwards from 10, and with each number, you feel more and more in control of your bladder. Start counting: 10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5… 4… 3… 2… 1. As you reach the number 1, feel a surge of confidence and control over your bladder.”
Conclusion:
“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine yourself feeling more confident and in control of your bladder. Remember that you have the power to stay dry at night, and that you can achieve this goal with practice and patience. When you’re ready, you can slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed and renewed. Remember to repeat the phrase ‘I am in control of my bladder, and I stay dry at night’ to yourself before bed each night, and know that you’re taking steps towards achieving your goal.”
Post-Hypnotic Suggestions:
Before ending the session, provide the following post-hypnotic suggestions:
* “Remember to take a few deep breaths before bed each night, and repeat the phrase ‘I am in control of my bladder, and I stay dry at night.'”
* “Imagine yourself waking up to use the bathroom during the night, and feeling confident and capable of doing so.”
* “Know that you have the power to control your bladder, and that you’re taking steps towards achieving your goal of staying dry at night.”
