Choosing to forgive and let go is a powerful act of self-healing that involves releasing negative emotions like resentment and anger towards someone who has wronged you.

Here is a hypnotherapy script designed to help individuals choose to forgive and let go:
Induction
(Soft, calming music plays in the background)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll explore the power of forgiveness and letting go. Find a comfortable seated or lying position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in… and out… Allow yourself to relax, letting go of any tension or stress.
Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful, serene environment, surrounded by a warm, comforting light. This light represents safety, protection, and compassion. With each breath, allow your body to relax further, sinking into a state of deep relaxation.”
Deepening
“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine yourself descending a staircase, leading to a deeper level of relaxation and inner awareness. With each step, feel yourself becoming more relaxed, more calm, and more connected to your inner self.
At the bottom of the staircase, you find yourself in a peaceful, sacred space. This space represents your inner sanctuary, where you can explore the power of forgiveness and letting go. Allow yourself to settle into this space, feeling the warmth, comfort, and compassion that surrounds you.”
Choosing to Forgive
“Now, imagine a person or situation that you’ve been struggling to forgive. See them in your mind’s eye, and imagine taking a deep breath in… and out… As you exhale, imagine yourself choosing to forgive.
Repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I choose to forgive, I choose to let go.’ Allow the feelings of forgiveness and release to sink deeply into your heart and mind.
Remember, forgiveness is a choice, and it’s a process that takes time and effort. But by choosing to forgive, you’re freeing yourself from the weight of resentment and anger. You’re allowing yourself to heal and move forward.”
Letting Go
“Imagine a weight or burden that represents your resentment and anger. See it in your mind’s eye, and imagine taking a deep breath in… and out… As you exhale, imagine this weight beginning to lift, slowly rising up and out of your body.
As it leaves your body, imagine any negative emotions, thoughts, or memories associated with this person or situation being released, dissolving into the air. You are free from the weight of this burden, free to live your life with greater ease, compassion, and understanding.
Repeat the following phrase to yourself: ‘I let go, I release, I forgive.’ Allow the feelings of forgiveness and release to sink deeply into your heart and mind.”
Empowerment
“Now, imagine yourself empowered with the knowledge and wisdom gained from your experiences. See yourself standing strong, confident, and compassionate.
Repeat the following phrases to yourself:
‘I am capable of forgiveness.
I am strong and resilient.
I am worthy of love, compassion, and forgiveness – not just from others, but from myself as well.’
Allow these words to sink deeply into your heart, filling you with a sense of empowerment and self-compassion.”
Integration
“As you continue to relax, imagine integrating these feelings of forgiveness and release into your daily life. Envision yourself responding to challenging situations with kindness, understanding, and patience.
Remember, you are doing the best you can, and that’s something to be proud of. You are capable of forgiveness, and you are worthy of love, compassion, and forgiveness.
Take a deep breath in, and out, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling before getting up and going about your day.”
Counting
“Take one final, deep breath in… and out… When I’m done counting, you’ll be back to full awareness, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more compassionate towards yourself and others.5…4…3…2…1… Eyes open, take a deep breath in, and enjoy the rest of your day.”
This script is a general guide and may need to be adapted to suit individual client needs. It’s essential to work with a qualified hypnotherapist or healthcare professional to ensure the best results.
