Detox Your Heart by Unpeeling the Layers that Covers your Heart

Often, what we first think we are upset about isn’t the true thing that is bothering us. Our emotions come in layers. The first layer might be anger. I AM ANGRY!!!!!! But when you peel away the layers, what might truly be driving that is loneliness, or fear, or hurt. This is where talking with a therapist can really help. Sometimes it really helps to have someone help us dig out from under all those layers we’ve covered our hearts in. As a parent, I often find that when a child is cranky or annoyed, taking time out to sit and talk with them and help them get to the original feeling can be transformative and enlightening for everyone.

Here is a hypnotherapy script for “Detox Your Heart by Unpeeling the Layers that Cover Your Heart”:

Induction:

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll embark on a journey to detox your heart by unpeeling the layers that cover it. Find a comfortable seated or lying position, with your back supported. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth.

Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful garden, surrounded by vibrant flowers and the soothing sounds of nature. With each breath, allow yourself to relax and let go of any tension.”

Deepening:

“As you inhale, imagine fresh, calming air filling your lungs. As you exhale, imagine any stress, anxiety, or worries leaving your body. Allow your eyelids to grow heavier, and your jaw to release any tension.

Imagine yourself descending a staircase, with each step taking you deeper into relaxation. With each step, feel your body and mind letting go of any resistance. You’re safe, supported, and free to explore your heart.”

Imagery and Metaphor:

“Now, imagine your heart as a beautiful, radiant flower. However, over time, layers of protective petals have formed around it, shielding it from the world. These layers may have been necessary for survival, but they’re now ready to be released.

Imagine yourself gently holding the stem of this flower. As you breathe in, visualize a warm, nurturing light beginning to seep into the petals. With each breath, this light grows, allowing the petals to slowly begin to unpeel.

As each layer unfolds, imagine any emotional pain, hurt, or trauma being gently released. Allow yourself to feel the sense of liberation and freedom that comes with each layer’s release.”

Emotional Processing:

“As you continue to breathe in this nurturing light, bring to mind any emotions or experiences that come up. Allow yourself to feel and process these emotions, without judgment.

Notice if there are any specific layers that feel more resistant to release. Gently encourage them to let go, using the phrase: ‘I am willing to release and let go.’ Repeat this phrase to yourself, allowing its truth to sink deeply into your heart.

Remember, you’re not alone in this process. Your heart is strong, resilient, and capable of healing.”

Heart-Centered Reflection:

“Now, imagine yourself standing in front of a mirror. Look into its reflection, and see your heart shining brightly, radiant and free.

Ask yourself:

What have I learned about myself and my heart during this journey?

What layers am I willing to continue to release, to allow my heart to shine even brighter?

Listen to your heart’s response, and allow its wisdom to guide you.”

Integration and Awakening:

“As you slowly begin to return to full awareness, take with you the insights and sense of emotional release you’ve experienced. Remember that you’re capable of unpeeling the layers that cover your heart, and allowing its radiance to shine.

Take a deep breath in, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Return to your day with a renewed sense of clarity, compassion, and connection to your heart.”

Post-Hypnotic Suggestion:

“Whenever you feel emotional discomfort or stress, remember to breathe in nurturing light, and gently encourage any layers to release. Trust that your heart is strong, resilient, and capable of healing and shining brightly.”
