Embracing and Loving My “Negative” Emotions Helped Heal My Pain
Induction – Settling Into Safety
Begin by finding a comfortable position…
Allow your body to relax…
Gently close your eyes…
Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose…
And softly exhale through your mouth…
Again… breathing in calm…
And breathing out tension…
With every breath, your body softens…
Your shoulders loosen…
Your jaw relaxes…
Your hands rest peacefully…
Now imagine a gentle wave of relaxation beginning at the top of your head…
Slowly moving down your forehead…
Past your eyes…
Your cheeks…
Your neck…
Drifting down through your chest…
Your stomach…
Your hips…
Your legs…
All the way to your toes…
You are safe.
You are supported.
You are ready to heal.
Deepening – Entering the Inner Sanctuary
Imagine you are walking down a peaceful path in nature…
Perhaps it is near the ocean…
Or in a quiet forest…
Or in a warm, open field…
Notice the colors…
The sounds…
The gentle breeze against your skin…
Ahead of you is a small sanctuary — a safe inner space created just for you.
You step inside.
This is a place where every part of you is welcome.
Especially the parts you once called “negative.”
Meeting the Emotion
Now, allow one emotion you have struggled with to gently appear.
It might be fear…
Anger…
Sadness…
Guilt…
Jealousy…
Shame…
There is no need to force anything.
Just notice what comes.
See this emotion as a presence… perhaps a shape, color, or energy.
Instead of pushing it away…
Instead of judging it…
Simply say, silently:
“I see you.”
“I acknowledge you.”
“You belong.”
Notice what happens when you stop fighting it.
This emotion was never your enemy.
It was a messenger.
Ask it gently:
“What are you trying to show me?”
“What pain are you protecting?”
“What do you need from me?”
Pause…
Allow the answer to arise naturally.
Reframing – The Gift Inside the Pain
Understand now:
Fear tried to keep you safe.
Anger tried to protect your boundaries.
Sadness tried to help you release.
Guilt tried to guide your conscience.
Shame tried to help you belong.
These emotions developed at a time when you needed protection.
And now… you are stronger.
You are wiser.
You can thank them.
Imagine placing your hand over your heart…
And saying:
“Thank you for protecting me.”
“I no longer need you to work so hard.”
“You can soften now.”
Notice the emotion beginning to change…
Perhaps it shrinks…
Or becomes lighter…
Or transforms into warmth…
As you embrace it with love…
The pain beneath it begins to dissolve.
Because pain heals when it is felt.
And emotions soften when they are accepted.
Self-Compassion Installation
Repeat slowly in your mind:
I allow all my emotions.
I am not broken because I feel deeply.
My emotions are information, not identity.
I can feel without being overwhelmed.
I am safe in my body.
I am safe with my feelings.
Love is stronger than fear.
Let these truths sink deeply into your subconscious.
Each time a difficult emotion arises in your daily life…
You will pause…
Breathe…
And respond with curiosity instead of judgment.
You will remember:
Embracing my emotions heals my pain.
Future Pacing
Now imagine yourself in a future moment…
A situation that once triggered you.
See yourself responding differently.
You pause.
You breathe.
You place your hand on your heart.
And instead of reacting…
You gently say:
“This feeling is here to teach me.”
Notice the calm strength in your body.
The steadiness in your breath.
You are no longer afraid of your emotions.
They are allies.
Awakening
In a moment, I will count from 1 to 5.
At 5, you will return feeling lighter, calmer, and emotionally empowered.
1… becoming aware of your body
2… bringing back clarity
3… gently moving your fingers and toes
4… taking a deeper breath
5… eyes open, feeling grounded, peaceful, and whole
