Emotional Abuse Trauma Healing

Here’s a sample script for a clinical hypnotherapy session to help children aged 5-10 years old heal from emotional abuse trauma:

Pre-Session Preparation

1. Ensure the child is comfortable and secure in the therapy environment.

2. Obtain informed consent from the child’s parent or guardian.

3. Establish a rapport with the child and explain the process in a way they can understand.

Induction (5-7 minutes)

1. “Hello [Child’s name], I’m here to help you feel safe and relaxed. Let’s take a deep breath together. Close your eyes and breathe in slowly through your nose, hold it for a second, and breathe out slowly through your mouth.”

2. “Imagine you’re in a magical place where you feel completely safe and happy. This could be a favorite park, a beach, or a fantasy world. Take a moment to imagine yourself there.”

3. “As you breathe in, imagine fresh, happy air filling your body. As you breathe out, imagine any worries or scary thoughts leaving your body.”

4. “Now, let’s count together from 10 to 1. With each number, you’ll feel yourself becoming more relaxed and calm.”

Deepening (3-5 minutes)

1. “Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful mountain path. With each step, you feel more relaxed and calm. Notice the sensation of your feet touching the ground.”

2. “As you walk, notice the surroundings. See the trees, hear the birds singing, and feel the gentle breeze on your skin.”

3. “Now, imagine a warm, comforting light beginning to fill your body. This light represents safety, love, and protection.”

Trauma Resolution (10-12 minutes)

1. “Now, I want you to imagine that you’re in a safe space, surrounded by people or animals that love and care for you.”

2. “Imagine that the hurtful words or actions are like clouds in the sky. They can move away, and the sun can shine through.”

3. “As you breathe in, imagine that you’re filling yourself with kind, loving thoughts. You’re worthy of love and respect.”

4. “Imagine that you’re taking back control of your thoughts and feelings. You’re strong and capable.”

5. “You can choose to reframe the experience in a way that feels safe and empowering for you. For example, you can imagine that you’re not alone, and that there are people who care about you.”

Reframing and Empowerment (5-7 minutes)

1. “You are worthy of love, respect, and kindness. You deserve to feel happy and safe.”

2. “Imagine that you’re surrounded by positive, uplifting thoughts and feelings. You’re strong and capable.”

3. “You can choose to let go of any negative thoughts or feelings that are holding you back. Imagine them floating away like leaves on a stream.”

Counting Up and Awakening (2-3 minutes)

1. “Let’s count together from 1 to 10. As we count, you’ll feel yourself becoming more alert and awake.”

2. “When we reach 10, you’ll be back in the present, feeling refreshed and renewed.”

Post-Session

1. Provide a safe and supportive environment for the child to process their emotions.

2. Encourage the child to express their feelings and experiences.

3. Schedule follow-up sessions as needed to reinforce progress and continue the healing process.

Additional Tips

1. Be sensitive to the child’s emotional state and adjust the script as needed.

2. Use language that is easy for the child to understand.

3. Encourage the child to express their feelings and emotions during and after the session.

4. Consider involving the child’s parents or caregivers in the therapy process to provide additional support.

Remember that every child is unique, and it’s essential to tailor the script to their individual needs and circumstances.
