Healing After an Affair and Getting Through the Pain of Infidelity

A Gentle Hypnotherapy Script for Emotional Healing, Release, and Inner Strength
(Approx. 35–40 minutes – trauma-sensitive and suitable for therapeutic delivery)

Preparation – Creating a Safe Space for Healing

Find a comfortable place where you feel safe and supported.
Allow your body to settle into the surface beneath you.

Rest your hands softly in your lap or by your side.

When you are ready, close your eyes.

Take a slow breath in through your nose…
Hold briefly…
And release slowly through your mouth.

Again… inhale calm…
Exhale tension.

One more slow breath…
Breathing in safety…
Breathing out pain and pressure.

You do not have to solve everything today.
You only need to begin healing.

Induction – Relaxing the Body

Bring your awareness to the top of your head.

Imagine a gentle wave of relaxation moving slowly downward.

Softening your forehead…
Relaxing your eyes…
Letting your jaw loosen.

Allow your shoulders to drop.
Your arms grow heavy and relaxed.

Your chest rises and falls naturally.
Your stomach softens.

Relax your hips.
Let your legs become heavier.
Feel your feet grounded and supported.

With every breath, your nervous system begins to settle.

Your body remembers how to relax.

Slow inhale for four…
Hold for two…
Exhale for six.

Longer exhale… deeper calm.

Acknowledging the Pain

Now gently bring awareness to the emotional pain you have experienced.

The betrayal.
The confusion.
The anger.
The sadness.

Allow these feelings to exist without judgment.

They are natural responses to deep hurt.

You are not weak for feeling them.
You are human.

Imagine holding these emotions gently, as if cradling them in your hands.

You do not have to push them away.
You do not have to hold onto them forever.

Right now, you are simply acknowledging them.

Releasing Self-Blame

Sometimes after betrayal, the mind searches for explanations.

“What did I do wrong?”
“Was I not enough?”

Notice those thoughts if they appear.

And gently release them.

Another person’s choices are not a measure of your worth.

Repeat silently:

I am not defined by someone else’s actions.
My value remains intact.
I deserve respect, honesty, and care.

Let these truths settle into your heart.

Rebuilding Inner Stability

Now imagine a strong foundation beneath you.

Like a solid stone platform that supports your entire body.

This foundation represents your inner strength.

Even though the relationship may have shaken your world…
Your core remains steady.

You are still the same person who can love, grow, and rebuild.

Place one hand gently over your heart.

Feel the warmth of your hand.

This is where healing begins.

Releasing the Emotional Weight

Imagine the pain you’ve been carrying as a heavy bundle resting on your shoulders.

Inside that bundle are:

Memories
Questions
Regret
Anger
Grief

Notice how heavy it has been.

Now imagine setting that bundle down beside you.

You are not denying the past.
You are simply choosing not to carry its full weight forever.

Feel the relief in your body as the load becomes lighter.

Restoring Your Sense of Self

Now imagine a warm light growing inside your chest.

This light represents your identity—
Your dignity
Your resilience
Your capacity for love

With each breath, the light grows stronger.

It spreads through your chest…
Your shoulders…
Your arms…

Down through your stomach and legs.

You begin to feel whole again.

Not because the pain never existed…
But because you are stronger than it.

Repeat silently:

I am healing.
I am worthy of love and respect.
My future is still open and hopeful.

Future Pacing – Moving Forward

Imagine yourself months from now.

Calmer.
Stronger.
More emotionally grounded.

Notice how the pain no longer dominates your thoughts.

You have gained wisdom.
Clarity about your needs.
Strength in your boundaries.

You move through life with deeper understanding of yourself.

Healing continues day by day.

Anchoring Strength

Now gently press your thumb and forefinger together.

Take one slow breath.

This becomes your healing anchor.

Whenever painful memories arise:

Press your fingers.
Take a slow breath.
Return to the calm strength inside you.

Affirmations for Healing

Silently repeat:

I allow myself to heal at my own pace.
I release what no longer serves my peace.
I am worthy of trust, respect, and love.
My heart can heal and grow stronger.
My future is still full of possibility.

Reorientation

In a moment, I will count from 1 to 5.
At 5, you will return feeling calmer, steadier, and supported.

1… awareness returning to your body.
2… gentle energy in your arms and legs.
3… deeper breath in.
4… feeling calm strength within you.
5… eyes open, grounded and present.

Closing Reflection

Healing after betrayal takes time.

But pain does not have to define the rest of your life.

With patience, compassion, and support,
your heart can repair…

Your strength can grow…

And your future can still hold trust, connection, and peace.
