Mindfully Calm Your Anger and Stop Doing Things You Regret
A Deep Hypnotherapy Script for Emotional Mastery, Self-Control, and Wise Response
(Approx. 30 minutes – written for therapeutic or audio delivery)
Preparation
Sit comfortably with both feet flat on the floor.
Rest your hands loosely on your thighs.
Allow your spine to lengthen gently.
When you’re ready, close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in through your nose…
Hold briefly…
And release slowly through your mouth.
Again…
Inhale calm…
Exhale pressure.
One more time…
Breathing in steadiness…
Breathing out urgency.
Right now, there is nothing to defend.
Nothing to argue.
Nothing to prove.
Just this moment.
Induction – Relaxing the Body to Calm the Mind
Bring your attention to the top of your head.
Imagine a wave of relaxation slowly moving downward.
Softening your forehead…
Releasing your jaw…
Letting your tongue rest gently.
Relaxing your neck…
Your shoulders dropping lower…
Your arms becoming heavier.
Your chest rises and falls naturally.
Your stomach softens.
Your hips relax.
Your legs grow heavy.
Your feet grounded and steady.
As your body relaxes, your nervous system begins to slow.
Anger cannot sustain itself in a relaxed body.
Take a slow inhale for four…
Hold for two…
Exhale for six.
Longer exhale.
Longer calm.
Understanding Anger Without Judgment
Now bring to mind a recent moment when you felt anger rise.
Do not dive into it.
Simply observe it as if watching from a safe distance.
Notice:
Where did anger show up first?
In your chest?
Your jaw?
Your fists?
Your voice?
Anger begins in the body before it becomes words.
And between the feeling and the reaction…
There is a space.
That space is your power.
Creating the Pause
Imagine anger as a spark.
When you react instantly, it becomes a fire.
When you pause, it fades into warmth.
Now imagine that spark appearing.
Instead of reacting, you breathe.
Slow inhale…
Long exhale…
You feel your feet pressing into the ground.
You feel your shoulders drop slightly.
You create distance between emotion and action.
In that distance…
You choose.
Rewriting the Pattern of Regret
Now think of a time when anger led to something you regretted.
Words spoken too sharply.
An action taken too quickly.
Instead of shame, bring understanding.
You were overwhelmed.
Your nervous system was activated.
Now replay that moment differently.
See yourself noticing the first signal of anger.
Heat rising.
Voice tightening.
And this time…
You pause.
You breathe once.
Twice.
Three slow breaths.
You lower your tone.
You choose fewer words.
You speak firmly but calmly.
Notice how differently the outcome unfolds.
Feel the strength in restraint.
The dignity in control.
This is not suppression.
This is mastery.
Transforming Anger into Clear Strength
Anger is energy.
Energy can destroy…
Or it can direct.
Imagine redirecting that energy into:
Clear boundaries.
Assertive communication.
Confident presence.
You stand steady.
Grounded.
Composed.
Your strength is quiet.
Controlled.
Intentional.
When you master your reactions,
you protect your relationships.
You protect your integrity.
You protect your future.
Installing a Trigger for Calm
Now imagine a simple signal you will use in daily life.
Whenever anger rises:
You gently press your thumb and forefinger together.
And take one slow breath.
This becomes your reset switch.
Thumb and finger together.
Slow breath.
Pause.
Each time you use it, the pause becomes easier.
The calm becomes faster.
The regret becomes rarer.
Affirmations for Emotional Control
Silently repeat:
I can feel anger without losing control.
I pause before I speak.
I choose responses I respect.
My strength is steady and calm.
I act in ways I am proud of.
Let those words settle into your subconscious.
Future Pacing
Now imagine yourself in a future situation that would normally trigger anger.
See it clearly.
And watch yourself handle it differently.
You breathe.
You pause.
You respond calmly.
You walk away if needed.
You speak firmly but respectfully.
Notice how strong you feel.
Notice how light you feel afterward.
No regret.
No replaying the argument.
Just peace.
Your brain is learning this new pattern now.
Reorientation
In a moment, I will count from 1 to 5.
When I reach 5, you will return feeling grounded, empowered, and in control.
1… becoming aware of your body.
2… gentle energy returning to your hands and feet.
3… taking a deeper breath.
4… feeling calm strength within you.
5… eyes open, clear, composed, and steady.
Closing Reminder
Anger is natural.
Reaction is optional.
Pause creates power.
Power prevents regret.
And each time you choose calm…
You strengthen the man or woman you are becoming.
