To release physical pain, try hypnotherapy also do (rest, ice, compression, elevation), gentle movement and stretching, and alternating heat and cold. Mind-body practices such as deep breathing, meditation, and mindfulness can also help by influencing pain signals and reducing anxiety.
Here’s a hypnotherapy script that may help release physical pain:
*Induction*
(Soft, calming voice)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll let go of physical pain and feel more relaxed and calm. Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Imagine yourself standing at the top of a peaceful staircase, with each step leading you deeper into relaxation. With each step down, you feel your body becoming heavier, more relaxed, and more calm.
Take a deep breath in… and out… and begin your journey down the staircase. One… two… three… four… five… As you descend, feel any tension or stress leaving your body.”
*Deepening*
“Now, imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your body. This light represents relaxation and calmness. As it flows through you, it dissolves any remaining tension or discomfort.
With each breath, this light grows brighter, filling your entire body. It seeps into your muscles, your bones, and your organs, calming and soothing them.
As you inhale, imagine fresh, calming energy entering your body. As you exhale, imagine any pain, discomfort, or stress leaving your body.”
*Pain Release*
“Now, bring to mind the area of your body where you’re experiencing pain. Imagine it as a specific location, a spot or an area that’s causing you discomfort.
Visualize this pain as a dense, dark cloud. See it, feel it, and sense its presence. Now, imagine a gentle breeze blowing through your body, carrying with it a soothing, calming energy.
As this breeze touches the dark cloud, it begins to dissipate, dissolving the pain and discomfort. The cloud starts to break apart, fragmenting into smaller, less dense pieces.
With each breath, these pieces dissolve further, until the cloud has disappeared entirely. The pain and discomfort have released from your body, leaving you feeling more relaxed and calm.”
*Body Scan*
“Now, take a moment to scan your body, starting from your toes and moving up to the top of your head. As you focus on each area, notice if there’s any remaining tension or discomfort.
If you find any areas of tension, imagine the warm, soothing light from earlier filling those spaces, dissolving any remaining stress or discomfort.
As you exhale, imagine any residual pain or tension leaving your body. Allow yourself to let go, completely and utterly, of any physical pain or discomfort.”
*Empowerment*
“Remember, you have the power to manage and release physical pain. You’ve taken the first step by acknowledging it and seeking help.
From this moment forward, imagine yourself handling challenging situations with greater ease and confidence. Visualize yourself moving through life with a sense of calm and relaxation, knowing that you can manage any discomfort that arises.
Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, repeat the phrase: ‘I release all physical pain and discomfort, and I welcome relaxation and calmness into my body.'”
*Counting Up*
“When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, feel refreshed, renewed, and more relaxed.
Imagine yourself standing at the bottom of the staircase, feeling more grounded and centered. Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling.
One… two… three… four… five… You’re now back to full awareness, feeling more relaxed and calm, with a renewed sense of confidence and control over your physical well-being.”
*Post-Hypnotic Suggestion*
“Remember, this feeling of relaxation and calmness can be accessed at any time. Simply close your eyes, take a deep breath, and recall the sensations of peace and tranquility you’ve experienced today.
Whenever you feel physical pain or discomfort, use this anchor to bring yourself back to a state of relaxation and calmness.”
