Practice replacing the phrase “I have to” with “I get to” whenever you catch yourself starting to complain. So many activities we complain about are things others wish they had the chance to do.
Here is a hypnotherapy script to help you start complaining less:
Induction
Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your body to relax, letting go of any tension or stress. Imagine yourself sinking deeper into relaxation with each breath.
Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, with each step leading you deeper into relaxation. With each breath, take a step down, feeling your body becoming heavier, sleepier, and more relaxed.
As you reach the bottom of the staircase, imagine yourself in a peaceful, calm place, surrounded by warmth and comfort. This is your safe space, where you can let go of complaining.
Deepening
Allow yourself to settle even deeper into relaxation, feeling your body becoming heavier, your mind quieter, and your spirit more open.
Imagine a warm, soothing light filling your entire body, dissolving any remaining tension or stress. As this light circulates through your body, it awakens your sense of gratitude and positivity.
Letting Go of Complaining
Now, bring to mind a situation that tends to trigger complaining in you. It could be a traffic jam, a difficult person, or a frustrating task.
As you hold this situation in your mind, imagine a small, delicate feather in front of you. This feather represents your complaining.
Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine gently blowing the feather away. See it floating off into the distance, disappearing from your sight.
Repeat the following affirmation to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your subconscious mind:
“I let go of complaining. I choose gratitude and positivity instead.”
Visualization
Imagine yourself in the same situation, but this time, see yourself responding calmly and peacefully. Imagine yourself finding the silver lining, focusing on the good, and letting go of negativity.
As you visualize yourself responding positively, feel a sense of empowerment and confidence growing within you. Know that you have the power to choose your reactions and responses.
Reframing
Now, imagine reframing your thoughts about the situation. Instead of complaining, see it as an opportunity for growth, learning, and improvement.
Repeat the following affirmation to yourself, allowing the words to become a part of your inner dialogue:
“Every situation is an opportunity for growth and learning. I choose to see the good.”
Closing
Take a moment to integrate the insights and feelings from this journey. Know that you have the power to let go of complaining and choose gratitude and positivity instead.
As you slowly open your eyes, remember to carry this sense of positivity with you, and to return to it whenever you need to let go of complaining.
Repeat the following affirmation to yourself, as you go about your day:
“I let go of complaining. I choose gratitude and positivity instead.”
Remember to use this script in a relaxing and comfortable environment, and to adjust the language and imagery to suit the individual’s needs and preferences
