With the power of your mind imagine any remaining discomfort, any remaining pain, melting away like ice in the sun. Feel your mouth, tongue, and throat relaxing, releasing, letting go of any tension, any stress.
Here is a hypnotherapy script to help release pain and discomfort in the mouth, tongue, and throat:
*Induction*
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll find relaxation and relief from the discomfort in your mouth, tongue, and throat. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow your eyes to gently close. Feel the weight of your body sinking into the chair, or onto the floor, or wherever you’re lying. Allow yourself to let go of any tension, any stress, any anxiety.
Imagine yourself standing at the top of a staircase, with each step leading you deeper into relaxation. With each breath, take a step down, feeling your body relax, feeling your mind calm. Take another step down, and another, and another, until you reach the bottom of the staircase, where you’re completely relaxed, completely calm.”
*Deepening*
“Now, imagine yourself in a peaceful place, where you feel completely safe, completely relaxed. It could be a beach, a forest, a mountain meadow – wherever you feel most at peace. Take a moment to imagine the sights, the sounds, the smells of this place. Feel the sensation of the air on your skin, the sensation of your feet connecting with the ground.
As you’re in this peaceful place, allow your mind to focus on your breath. Feel the air moving in and out of your body, feel your chest rising and falling with each breath. As you inhale, imagine fresh, clean air filling your lungs, nourishing your body, calming your mind. As you exhale, imagine any tension, any discomfort, any pain leaving your body, flowing out of you like water.”
*Suggestions*
“Now, bring your attention to your mouth, tongue, and throat. Allow yourself to feel any areas of discomfort, any areas of pain. Imagine these areas as a dark, cloudy mist. As you inhale, imagine fresh, white light filling this mist, clearing it away, calming the area.
With each exhale, imagine this mist dissolving, disappearing, leaving your mouth, tongue, and throat feeling calm, relaxed, comfortable. Repeat after me: ‘My mouth, tongue, and throat are calm, relaxed, and comfortable.’
Imagine your mouth, tongue, and throat as strong, healthy, and resilient. Imagine them healing, repairing, and restoring themselves to their natural state of well-being. Repeat after me: ‘My mouth, tongue, and throat are strong, healthy, and resilient.’
As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine any remaining discomfort, any remaining pain, melting away like ice in the sun. Feel your mouth, tongue, and throat relaxing, releasing, letting go of any tension, any stress.
You are in control, you are safe, you are relaxed. Your mouth, tongue, and throat are calm, relaxed, and comfortable.”
*Counting and Awakening*
“Now, as you’re in this peaceful state, I’ll count from five to one, and when I reach one, you’ll slowly, gently open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and relaxed.
Five… your body is relaxed, your mind is calm.
Four… your mouth, tongue, and throat are comfortable, relaxed.
Three… you’re feeling more relaxed, more calm with each breath.
Two… your body is healing, repairing, restoring itself to its natural state of well-being.
One… open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and relaxed.”
Remember to take deep breaths and focus on the sensations in your body as you listen to this script. Allow yourself to fully relax and let go of any discomfort or pain in your mouth, tongue, and throat.
