Transtheoretical Model (TTM) of behaviour change, which describes the process of behaviour change, including addiction recovery, as progressing through five stages: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance.

Here’s an overview of these stages and a hypnotherapy script that can be used to support heroin addiction recovery and healing:
*The Five Stages:*
1. *Precontemplation*: The individual is not yet aware of the problem or is in denial about the severity of their addiction.
2. *Contemplation*: The individual becomes aware of the problem and starts to think about changing their behavior.
3. *Preparation*: The individual prepares themselves for change by gathering information, setting goals, and developing a plan.
4. *Action*: The individual takes concrete steps to change their behavior, such as seeking treatment or joining a support group.
5. *Maintenance*: The individual works to maintain their progress, prevent relapse, and reinforce new behaviors.
*Hypnotherapy Script:*
*Induction:*
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll explore your subconscious mind and develop a strong foundation for recovery from heroin addiction. Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.”
*Deepening:*
“Imagine yourself descending a staircase, with each step taking you deeper into relaxation. As you breathe in, feel your body relax and let go of any tension. As you breathe out, imagine any stress or anxiety leaving your body.”
*Precontemplation to Contemplation:*
“Imagine you’re in a quiet, peaceful place, where you can reflect on your life and your addiction. Allow yourself to acknowledge the impact of heroin on your life, relationships, and goals. See yourself feeling stuck, and understand that you have the power to change.”
*Contemplation to Preparation:*
“Picture yourself standing at a crossroads, with one path leading to continued addiction and the other to recovery. Imagine the benefits of recovery, such as improved relationships, better health, and increased self-esteem. Visualize yourself preparing for change by seeking support, learning new coping skills, and developing a plan.”
*Preparation to Action:*
“Imagine yourself taking the first steps towards recovery. See yourself attending therapy sessions, joining a support group, and engaging in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment. Visualize yourself overcoming challenges and staying focused on your goals.”
*Action to Maintenance:*
“Picture yourself in a state of ongoing recovery, where you’re maintaining your progress and continuing to grow. Imagine yourself handling triggers and cravings with ease, and staying connected with your support network. See yourself celebrating milestones and reinforcing positive behaviors.”
*Post-Hypnotic Suggestion:*
“When you return to your conscious state, remember that you have the strength and resilience to overcome heroin addiction. Trust in your ability to progress through the stages of recovery, and know that you’re deserving of a healthy, happy life.”
*Awakening:*
“Take a deep breath in, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Return to your day feeling refreshed, renewed, and empowered to take control of your recovery.”
Keep in mind that hypnotherapy is not a replacement for medical treatment or professional therapy. This script is meant to be used as a supplementary tool to support recovery and should be used under the guidance of a licensed therapist or healthcare professional.
