Bitterness is not caused by people, it’s caused by personal hurt.
Here’s a hypnotherapy script aimed at reducing bitterness caused by personal hurt:
Induction
(Soft, calming music plays in the background)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll work through personal hurt and bitterness. Allow yourself to settle in, getting comfortable and relaxed. Take a deep breath in… and out… Feel your body let go, starting from your toes, up to the top of your head. As you exhale, imagine any tension, stress, or anxiety leaving your body.”
Deepening
“Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful, serene environment, surrounded by calming sights and sounds. With each breath, feel your feet connecting with the ground, becoming more grounded and centered. As you inhale, visualize fresh, calming air filling your lungs. As you exhale, imagine any negative emotions or thoughts floating away. Allow yourself to let go, surrendering to the present moment.”
Identifying the Hurt
“Now, imagine a situation where you felt personally hurt. Perhaps it was a betrayal, rejection, or criticism. Allow the memory to surface, but don’t engage with it yet. Simply observe it, acknowledging the emotions that arise. How did you feel in that moment? What emotions did you experience?”
Understanding the Impact
“Take a step back and examine the impact of personal hurt on your life. Recognize that it can lead to bitterness, resentment, and negativity. Understand that holding onto hurt can prevent you from moving forward and experiencing personal growth. Acknowledge that you have the power to choose how you respond to hurt and that you can work towards healing and release.”
Releasing the Hurt
“Imagine a large, heavy stone in front of you, representing the personal hurt. See the stone begin to lift, symbolizing your release from the burden of hurt. As the stone disappears, feel the lightness and freedom that comes with letting go. Repeat to yourself:
* ‘I release the hurt and pain.’
* ‘I choose to forgive myself and others.’
* ‘I trust that I can heal and move forward.'”
Fostering Forgiveness
“Visualize a warm, nurturing light filling your body, representing forgiveness and healing. As this light grows, it guides you to release the hurt and bitterness. Imagine yourself practicing self-compassion, understanding, and empathy. Allow this sense of forgiveness to become your guiding force.”
Empowering Healing
“From this place of forgiveness, repeat the following affirmations to yourself:
* ‘I am worthy of healing and happiness.’
* ‘I trust that I can release the past and move forward.’
* ‘I choose to cultivate self-love and self-compassion.'”
Integration and Awakening
“Take a few deep breaths, feeling the insights and new perspectives integrating into your subconscious mind. As you slowly come back to full awareness, remember that you’ve been empowered to overcome bitterness and personal hurt. Carry this sense of forgiveness and healing with you, applying it to your daily life. When you feel the urge to hold onto hurt or bitterness, recall this feeling of empowerment and remind yourself that you deserve to heal and move forward.”
Counting Up
“When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more confident in your ability to heal and forgive. As you return to your day, remember that you’ve taken a significant step towards personal growth, healing, and positive change.”
