Imagine a loving, compassionate presence entering the scene. This presence may take the form of a kind friend, a wise mentor, or even your own inner self. This presence offers you kindness, understanding, and patience.
Here’s a hypnotherapy script for cultivating self-love and self-compassion:
Induction
(Soft, calming music plays in the background)
“Welcome to this journey of self-love and self-compassion. Find a comfortable seated or lying position, with your back supported. Take a deep breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth. Allow your body to relax, feeling any tension release.
Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful beach at sunset. With each breath, feel your feet grounding into the sand. Notice the sensation of the gentle breeze on your skin, and the sound of the waves washing over the shore.
As you inhale, repeat the phrase ‘I am calm and relaxed.’ As you exhale, repeat ‘I let go of all tension and stress.’ Allow yourself to settle deeper into relaxation with each breath.”
Deepening
“Now, imagine a warm, comforting light beginning to fill your body. This light represents self-love and self-compassion. As it enters through the crown of your head, it flows down through your face, neck, and shoulders.
As this light touches each part of your body, it dissolves any areas of tension or discomfort. Allow your jaw to release, your shoulders to drop, and your heart to open.
As you breathe in, imagine fresh, nourishing air filling your lungs. As you breathe out, imagine any doubts, worries, or fears leaving your body. Repeat to yourself, ‘I am safe, I am worthy, and I am enough.'”
Self-Love and Self-Compassion
“Now, bring to mind a recent situation where you may have been self-critical or judgmental. See it in your mind’s eye, like a movie playing on a screen. As you observe this scene, notice how you feel. Allow yourself to fully experience these emotions.
Now, imagine a loving, compassionate presence entering the scene. This presence may take the form of a kind friend, a wise mentor, or even your own inner self. This presence offers you kindness, understanding, and patience.
Repeat the following phrases to yourself, allowing the words to sink deeply into your heart:
* ‘I am kind to myself, just as I am.’
* ‘I accept myself exactly as I am, in this moment.’
* ‘I trust that I am doing the best I can, and that’s enough.’
* ‘I am worthy of love, care, and compassion – from myself and others.’
As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine this loving presence filling your entire being. Envision it nurturing your heart, soothing your emotions, and calming your mind.
Empowerment
“Remember that you have the power to choose how you relate to yourself. You can cultivate a supportive, loving relationship with your inner self.
Whenever you notice self-criticism or doubt, gently remind yourself:
* ‘I am enough, just as I am.’
* ‘I trust myself and my abilities.’
* ‘I am deserving of love, kindness, and compassion.’
As you integrate these affirmations, feel a sense of confidence and self-trust growing within you. Know that you can approach challenges with courage, resilience, and heart.”
Counting Up
“When you’re ready, slowly begin to bring your attention back to your physical body. Take a few deep breaths, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more connected to your inner self.
As you count up from 1 to 5, you’ll gradually return to a state of full awareness:
1. Begin to notice the sensations in your toes, feeling more grounded and centered.
2. Gradually bring awareness to your legs, feeling stronger and more supported.
3. Notice the sensations in your arms and hands, feeling more confident and capable.
4. Bring your attention to your heart, feeling more open, loving, and compassionate.
5. Take a deep breath in, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes, feeling refreshed, renewed, and more in touch with your inner self.”
Post-Hypnotic Suggestion
“Remember, self-love and self-compassion are always available to you. Take a moment each day to breathe, relax, and offer kindness to yourself. You are worthy of love, care, and compassion – from yourself and others.”
(Soft music continues to play for another minute before slowly fading out)
