Accept Our Foes and Adversaries
A Hypnotherapy Script for Releasing Resentment and Restoring Inner Peace
Induction – Creating Inner Safety
Begin by sitting or lying comfortably…
Allow your eyes to gently close…
Take a slow, deep breath in…
And slowly exhale…
Again… breathing in calm…
Breathing out tension…
With each breath, feel your body relaxing…
Your forehead softens…
Your jaw unclenches…
Your shoulders drop…
Allow a gentle wave of relaxation to move from the top of your head…
Down through your neck…
Across your chest…
Into your arms…
Through your hips…
Your legs…
All the way to your feet…
You are safe.
You are supported.
You are in control.
This journey is about freeing your heart — not approving harmful behavior, but releasing the burden you carry.
Deepening – Entering the Inner Sanctuary
Now imagine you are walking along a peaceful path…
Perhaps in nature…
A quiet garden…
A still lakeside…
A warm open field…
Ahead of you is a safe sanctuary — a space where you can observe your emotions without being overwhelmed.
Step inside.
In this space, you remain grounded and calm.
Nothing can harm you here.
Bringing the Person to Mind
Now, gently allow the image of someone you consider a foe, adversary, or someone who has hurt you to appear in your awareness.
You do not need to see every detail.
Just a sense of them being present.
Notice what arises in your body.
Tension…
Anger…
Sadness…
Defensiveness…
Simply observe.
No judgment.
No reaction.
Just awareness.
Take a slow breath.
And silently say:
“I allow myself to feel what I feel.”
Separating the Person from the Pain
Understand this gently:
Their behavior caused pain.
But holding onto resentment continues the pain.
You are not here to excuse.
You are here to release.
Imagine a cord of heavy energy between you and this person — made of anger, blame, or hurt.
Notice its weight.
Now imagine placing your hand over your heart and saying:
“I choose peace over bitterness.”
“I release what no longer serves me.”
“I free myself.”
As you breathe out, see that cord beginning to dissolve…
Light replacing heaviness…
You are not releasing them for their benefit.
You are releasing them for yours.
Humanizing Without Justifying
Now imagine seeing this person as a child.
Young.
Innocent.
Shaped by their own wounds.
Notice that hurt people often hurt others.
This does not excuse their actions.
But it explains them.
Silently say:
“I see that you, too, have pain.”
“I no longer carry your darkness in my heart.”
Feel the emotional charge softening.
Not disappearing completely perhaps — but loosening.
And that loosening is freedom.
Installing Empowerment
Repeat slowly:
I can protect my boundaries without hatred.
I can release resentment without losing strength.
Forgiveness is freedom for me.
I choose peace over poison.
I am emotionally sovereign.
I am free.
Let these words settle deeply into your subconscious.
Future Pacing
Imagine encountering a memory of this person in the future.
See yourself calm.
Steady breath.
Clear boundaries.
No emotional storm.
You respond, not react.
You carry wisdom instead of anger.
You walk forward lighter.
Awakening
In a moment, I will count from 1 to 5.
At 5, you will return feeling lighter, calmer, and emotionally unburdened.
1… awareness returning
2… clarity increasing
3… gently moving your body
4… taking a deep, refreshing breath
5… eyes open, grounded, peaceful, and strong
