Hypnotherapy Relaxation Induction with Guided Imagery of you as a Elephant

Take a moment to notice how you feel. Notice the sensation of relaxation in your body, the calmness in your mind, and the peace in your heart.

Here’s a sample script for a hypnotherapy relaxation induction with guided imagery of you as an elephant:

Introduction

“Welcome to this journey of relaxation and calm. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow any tension or stress to release. Get comfortable, and let’s begin our journey together. You are about to embark on a wonderful adventure, where you’ll let go of all worries and immerse yourself in a state of deep relaxation.”

Progressive Muscle Relaxation

“Starting from your toes, bring your attention to each muscle group, and as you exhale, allow them to relax and let go. Begin with your toes… wiggle them, feel the weight of your body distributed evenly… and as you exhale, feel them relax, become heavier, and sink deeper into the ground. (pause)

“Move up to your feet… feel the soles of your feet, the sensation of the floor beneath you… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, soften, and melt into the ground. (pause)

“Next, focus on your ankles… feel the gentle sway of your ankles, the flexibility of your joints… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become loose, and let go of any tension. (pause)

“Work your way up to your calves… feel the sensation of your calf muscles, the gentle pulse of your heartbeat… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, smooth out, and release any tightness. (pause)

“Move up to your knees… feel the gentle bend of your knees, the support of your leg bones… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become stable, and strong. (pause)

“Next, focus on your thighs… feel the power of your thigh muscles, the solid foundation of your legs… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become calm, and release any strain. (pause)

“Work your way up to your hips… feel the gentle sway of your hips, the flexibility of your pelvis… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become smooth, and let go of any tension. (pause)

“Move up to your lower back… feel the gentle curve of your spine, the support of your vertebrae… and as you exhale, allow it to relax, become supple, and release any strain. (pause)

“Next, focus on your upper back… feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest, the expansion of your lungs… and as you exhale, allow it to relax, become calm, and let go of any tension. (pause)

“Move up to your shoulders… feel the gentle roll of your shoulders, the relaxation of your arms… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become loose, and release any tightness. (pause)

“Work your way up to your arms… feel the gentle flex of your elbows, the relaxation of your forearms… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become calm, and let go of any strain. (pause)

“Next, focus on your hands… feel the gentle curl of your fingers, the relaxation of your palms… and as you exhale, allow them to relax, become soft, and release any tension. (pause)

“Move up to your neck… feel the gentle bend of your neck, the relaxation of your throat… and as you exhale, allow it to relax, become smooth, and let go of any strain. (pause)

“Finally, focus on your face… feel the gentle relaxation of your facial muscles, the release of any tension… and as you exhale, allow it to relax, become calm, and let go of any stress.”

Guided Imagery of an Elephant

“Now, imagine yourself as a majestic elephant, roaming the open savannah. Feel the warmth of the sun on your gray skin, the gentle wind in your ears, and the solid earth beneath your feet. With each breath, allow yourself to relax further, feeling the tranquility of the savannah.

“Notice the vibrant colors of the grasslands, the sounds of the birds, and the rhythm of your footsteps. Imagine any remaining worries, doubts, or fears being left behind, disappearing into the distance.

“Allow yourself to breathe in deeply, feeling the freshness of the savannah air filling your lungs. As you exhale, imagine any remaining tension, stress, or anxiety leaving your body, carried away by the wind.

“You begin to walk, feeling the power of your massive body, the strength of your trunk, and the freedom of your spirit. With each step, allow yourself to feel more relaxed, more peaceful, more connected to the natural world.

“Notice the way the light changes as the sun sets, the way the stars begin to twinkle in the sky. Imagine any remaining thoughts or concerns being carried away by the stars, leaving your mind clear and calm.

“You come to a comfortable spot, and lie down, feeling the soft grass supporting your body. Allow yourself to relax further, feeling the calming energy of the savannah, its soothing presence.

“Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, allow yourself to sink deeper into relaxation, deeper into the savannah’s calming energy. Feel your body becoming more relaxed, your mind becoming more calm, and your heart becoming more serene.”

Deepening

“Take a moment to notice how you feel. Notice the sensation of relaxation in your body, the calmness in your mind, and the peace in your heart. Remember, this feeling is always available to you, whenever you need it.

“Take one last, deep breath in, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. You’ve taken a wonderful journey of relaxation, and now you can return to your day, feeling refreshed, renewed, and at peace.”

Located at the base of the spine and extending through the legs to your feet, the root chakra symbolizes your foundation and connection to Mother Earth. When balanced, the root chakra allows you to harness courage and ancestral instincts while keeping you grounded.

The root chakra is related to your basic needs – your survival center. This chakra manifests your primal and ancestral instincts, like your flight-or-fight response. As the foundation of the chakra system, the root chakra function is to respond to any issues concerning your survival such as eating, sleeping, exercising, housing, financial security, sense of safety, and stability.

Providing the foundation you need to build upon, your first chakra is where you ground yourself and anchor your energy. When balanced, the root chakra allows you to harness courage, and resourcefulness, and to expand upon our ancestral instincts while keeping you grounded.

Root Chakra Imbalance

The chakra system distributes the flow of prana or energy throughout your subtle body. Stress, illness, emotional upset, and conflict can all cause blockages or imbalance in your chakra system. All of the seven chakras are interconnected; when one chakra experiences a blockage or imbalance, it affects all the others. This disruption of energy can cause your mind, body, and spirit to suffer.

When your root chakra is imbalanced, it cracks the foundation of the whole chakra system. If you are just starting your chakra journey, it is important to balance your root chakra first. Imbalance in this chakra can cause you to find yourself coping with threats to your survival. These threats can be moving, changing jobs, reoccurring health problems, weight problems, sense of fear, or insecurity.

Underactive root chakra – When a chakra is underactive, it means that the chakra is experiencing a blockage or is not distributing the flow of energy. When your root chakra is underactive, it can affect your overall health.

Signs of an underactive root chakra:

  • Feel Disconnected
  • Disorganized
  • Lack of Focus
  • Feelings of Fear, Anxiousness, or Restlessness
  • Lack of Stamina
  • Trouble Obtaining Financial Security

Overactive root chakra – When a chakra is overactive, it means that the chakra is distributing too much energy. It is working in overdrive and bringing imbalance to the chakra. When your root chakra is overactive, it affects your overall health.

Signs of an overactive root chakra:

  • Anger and Annoyance Towards People and Events in Your Life.
  • Greediness
  • Dependent on Others’ Security
  • Rigid Boundaries
  • Difficulty Accepting Change
  • Materialistic
  • Impulsiveness

How to Balance the Root Chakra

Chakra balancing is the process of restoring the harmonious and balanced flow of prana or energy throughout the body. Your chakras are in constant fluctuation. Practicing chakra balancing and aligning is a regular and sometimes daily activity to explore. But how do you balance your root chakra?

Anchor yourself in your environment – Your root chakra is highly influenced by your feelings of stability and safety. Developing a harmonious relationship with your environment and immediate surroundings helps restore balance to your first chakra.

Connect With the Earth – When balancing your first chakra, it is important to connect directly with Mother Earth. Spend time outside, walk unpaved paths, plant a garden, or keep plants inside your home. These are all ways to form a personal connection with the earth to support a more grounded and sustainable energy flow.

Physical Activity – The root chakra plays an important role in your physicality. Physical activity supports root chakra balancing. Yoga can be particularly helpful in balancing your root chakra.

Meditation – Meditation plays a vital role in balancing and opening your chakras. Chakra meditation techniques are very similar to regular mediation techniques, but with a focus on one specific area of the body.
Try this simple but effective root chakra meditation:

  • Sit with your shoulders back and spine straight. Relax your muscles as you close your eyes and breathe deeply. Inhale through your nose and exhale through the mouth.
  • Focus your attention on the location of your root chakra, right below the tailbone.
  • Since the root chakra is tied to the color of red, imagine a red glow at the base of your spine. Slowly expand this red glow, making the whole area warm and relaxed. Rest in this sensation for 3-5 minutes.
  • When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. You may follow with positive affirmations.

Affirmations – Affirmations are a positive way to heal negative programming that can be embedded in your subtle body. When balancing your root chakra, practice saying these phrases to yourself:

  1. I see myself as a mountain, Stable and Solid.
  2. I am grounded like a tree.
  3. I Feel Safe and Protected.
  4. I Feel Full of Energy, strength and Courage.
  5. I Love my Life.
  6. I am Peaceful Soul.
