Cope With the Grief of Heartbreak with Hypnotherapy

Coping with the Grief of Heartbreak – Hypnotherapy Script

Induction & Relaxation

Find a quiet, comfortable place…
Allow your body to settle…
Gently close your eyes…

Take a slow, deep breath in…
…and gently exhale…

Again… breathing in calm…
…and breathing out any tension…

With each breath, feel yourself softening…
Letting go…

Bring your awareness to the top of your head…

Allow a gentle wave of relaxation to flow downward…

Relax your forehead…
your eyes… your jaw…

Release your neck and shoulders…
letting them drop…

Feel this relaxation move into your chest…
your heart…

Your stomach softens…
your hips relax…

Your legs grow heavy…
your feet completely at ease…

You are now deeply relaxed… safe… and supported.

Deepening

Imagine yourself in a peaceful, safe place…
A place where you feel completely held…

It could be a quiet beach…
a garden…
or any place that feels right for you…

With each breath, you sink deeper into this space…

I will count from 10 down to 1…

10… relaxing…
9… letting go…
8… drifting deeper…
7… calm and safe…
6… more at ease…
5… halfway…
4… deeper still…
3… peaceful…
2… almost there…
1… fully relaxed.

Allowing the Grief

Now gently bring your awareness to your heart…

Notice what you feel…

There may be sadness…
loss…
loneliness…
or emptiness…

Whatever is there… allow it…

You do not need to push it away…
or fix it…

Grief is a natural response to love…

And it is safe to feel.

Creating Space for Healing

Now imagine your heart as a container…

There is space here…
Room for everything you feel…

Nothing is too much…
Nothing is overwhelming…

With each breath, your heart expands…

Making space for the sadness…
while also allowing calm to enter…

Breathing in comfort…
breathing out heaviness…

Gentle Release

Now imagine your grief as a soft, flowing energy…

Not stuck…
but moving…

With every exhale…
some of that heaviness begins to release…

Like waves washing out to sea…

Or like clouds slowly drifting across the sky…

You do not need to force it…

Just allow…

Your system knows how to heal.

Self-Compassion

Now bring kindness to yourself…

Place your hand gently over your heart… (if comfortable)…

And say within yourself:

“This hurts… and that’s okay.”
“I am allowed to grieve.”
“I am here for myself.”

Feel the warmth of your own compassion…

You are not alone in this moment…
You are supporting yourself…

And that is powerful.

Honouring What Was

Now gently acknowledge the relationship…

Not just the pain…
but also what it meant to you…

The connection…
the memories…
the love that was there…

You can honour it…
without holding onto the hurt…

Say softly:

“I am grateful for what was…
and I allow myself to move forward.”

Feel a sense of gentle closure beginning to form…

Not forced…
but naturally emerging.

Restoring Inner Strength

Now imagine a steady, calming strength growing within you…

Like roots grounding you…

You are still whole…
still capable of love…
still worthy…

Even in grief…
there is strength.

Repeat silently:

“I am healing, one breath at a time.”
“I trust this process.”
“I will feel whole again.”

Let these truths settle deeply.

Integration

Take a deep breath in…

Feel a sense of calm…

Not because everything is resolved…
but because you are allowing healing to happen…

And this process continues…
gently… naturally…

Even after this moment.

Awakening

In a moment, I will count from 1 to 5…

1… gently returning…
2… bringing awareness back…
3… feeling your body…
4… becoming more alert…
5… eyes open… calm, supported, and grounded.

End of Script

Deal with your Heartbreak that feels too Heavy to Bear with Hypnotherapy

Here’s a deep, compassionate hypnotherapy script designed specifically for heartbreak that feels overwhelming or too heavy to carry.
It is especially gentle and effective for emotionally intense experiences.

You can read it slowly, record it, or use it with clients.

Hypnotherapy Script: When Heartbreak Feels Too Heavy to Bear

1. Induction (Creating Safety & Grounding)

Slow, soothing tone…

Take a deep breath in…
…and slowly let it go…

Again… breathing in…
…and exhaling any tension…

And one more time…
allowing your body to begin to soften…

Now… just let your eyes close…

And as they close…
you don’t have to carry anything right now…

Nothing to fix…
nothing to figure out…

Just rest…

Feel the surface beneath you…
supporting you completely…

You are held… even now…

2. Deepening (Letting Go of Control)

With each breath…
you can allow yourself to sink deeper…

As if you are gently floating…
supported… safe…

I will count down from 10 to 1…
and with each number… you soften more deeply…

10… letting go…
9… nothing to hold onto…
8… drifting…
7… safe to feel…
6… safe to release…
5… halfway down…
4… deeper still…
3… calm…
2… surrendering…
1… deeply relaxed…

3. Acknowledging the Weight of the Heartbreak

Now… bring your awareness to your chest…

You may feel a heaviness there…
a pressure… an ache…

And that heaviness…
has been asking to be seen…

Not pushed away…
not fixed…
just… understood…

So for a moment…
just sit with it…

And silently say:

“I see you…
I feel you…
I acknowledge this pain…”

And notice…
even the act of acknowledging…
begins to soften the edges…

4. Transforming the Weight (Gentle Release)

Now imagine that heaviness…
as a dense energy… sitting in your chest…

Perhaps it has a color…
a shape…
a texture…

And instead of resisting it…
you gently place your attention around it…

Like holding something fragile… with care…

Now… imagine a warm, soft light…
beginning to surround this heaviness…

This light does not force it away…
it simply comforts it…

Softly… gently… patiently…

And as the light surrounds it…
the heaviness begins to change…

Not disappearing all at once…
but becoming lighter… softer… more spacious…

And you can say:

“I don’t have to carry this all at once…
I can release it… little by little…”

And with each breath out…
a small part of that weight dissolves…

5. Releasing Emotional Attachment

Now… bring to mind the person or situation connected to this heartbreak…

Only as much as feels safe…

And imagine that what remains between you…
is like an emotional thread…

And now… you don’t need to cut it harshly…

Instead… you allow it to gently loosen…

Naturally… peacefully… with understanding…

And you say:

“I release what I cannot control…
I release what is no longer mine to carry…”

And as that thread softens…
your energy begins to return to you…

6. Reconnecting with Inner Strength

Now… bring your focus back to yourself…

Beneath the pain…
there is still you…

Still breathing…
still present…
still capable of healing…

And now… deep within you…
there is a quiet strength…

Not loud… not forceful…
but steady… enduring…

Place your awareness there…

And repeat gently:

“This pain will not break me…
It will move through me…
And I will rise… gently… in my own time…”

Now imagine a future version of you…

Lighter… calmer… whole again…

Not because the past didn’t matter…
but because you healed through it…

And allow that version of you…
to send comfort back to you now…

7. Future Pacing (Hope Without Pressure)

In the coming days…
you may notice small changes…

Moments where the weight feels less intense…
moments where you can breathe more freely…

And you allow healing to happen…
without rushing it…

Because healing is not force…
it is allowing…

8. Awakening (Return with Calm)

Now… gently begin to return…

1… becoming aware of your breath…
2… feeling your body again…
3… bringing back energy…
4… taking a deeper breath in…
5… eyes open… feeling calmer… supported… and lighter…
