Imagine your body as a car, a vehicle that takes you through life’s journey. Notice the exterior of your car, its shape, colour, and condition.

Here’s a script for a Hypnotherapy session, guiding you to experience the “My Body” – The Car Metaphor:
Introduction
(Soft, calming music starts playing. Speak in a gentle, soothing tone.)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll embark on a journey to explore your body, using the powerful metaphor of a car. Allow yourself to relax, let go of any tension, and simply be present in this moment. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, feel any stress or anxiety leave your body. You’re safe, supported, and about to experience a profound connection with your physical body.”
Induction
(Speak in a slow, hypnotic pace.)
“Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful, serene environment. Notice the sensation of your feet connecting with the ground. Feel the weight of your body distributed evenly, supported by the earth beneath you. As you inhale, breathe in the fresh, clean air, filling your lungs with tranquility. Exhale, and release any thoughts, worries, or doubts. Allow your eyelids to grow heavy, and your body to relax further with each breath.”
Deepening
(Continue speaking in a soothing tone.)
“Imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to emanate from the crown of your head. This light represents relaxation, calmness, and healing energy. As it flows down through your body, it loosens any tension, easing your muscles, and quieting your mind. Allow this light to fill your entire being, nourishing your body, mind, and spirit. With each breath, feel yourself becoming more relaxed, more calm, and more open to the healing process.”
The Car Metaphor
(Speak in a gentle, imaginative tone.)
“Imagine your body as a car, a vehicle that takes you through life’s journey. Notice the exterior of your car, its shape, colour, and condition.
Is it shiny and new, or a bit worn out?
Are there any scratches, dents, or areas that need attention?
Take a moment to acknowledge the exterior of your car, and how it reflects your overall health and well-being.”
Exploring the Car
(Speak in a gentle, guiding tone.)
“Now, imagine yourself getting into the driver’s seat of your car. Notice the sensation of sitting comfortably, with your hands on the steering wheel, and your feet on the pedals. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, feel yourself becoming one with your car. Allow yourself to explore the interior of your car, noticing the dashboard, the seats, and the instruments. Are there any areas that need adjustment, any systems that need tuning, or any parts that need replacement?”
Checking the Systems
(Speak in a gentle, inquiring tone.)
“Let’s check the different systems of your car.
How’s the engine running?
Is it smooth, efficient, and powerful?
Or is it sputtering, struggling, or in need of a tune-up?
How about the brakes?
Are they responsive, reliable, and effective?
Or are they worn out, weak, or in need of repair?
What about the suspension?
Is it smooth, comfortable, and absorbent?
Or is it rough, bumpy, or in need of adjustment?”
Healing and Maintenance
(Speak in a gentle, empowering tone.)
“As you explore your car, remember that you have the power to make adjustments, to tune up, and to repair any systems that need attention. Imagine yourself making any necessary changes, using the tools and resources available to you. Visualize your car becoming more efficient, more powerful, and more comfortable to drive. See yourself taking care of your car, nourishing it with healthy habits, and maintaining it with regular check-ups and tune-ups.”
Integration and Empowerment
(Speak in a gentle, empowering tone.)
“As you continue to explore your car, remember that you are the driver, the owner, and the caretaker of your body. You have the power to choose how you fuel your car, how you drive it, and how you maintain it. Imagine yourself making conscious choices, choosing healthy foods, regular exercise, and sufficient rest. See yourself taking care of your car, listening to its needs, and responding to its signals. Know that you can trust your car, trust your body, and trust the journey that lies ahead.”
Counting Technique (Reverse)
(Speak in a gentle, rhythmic tone.)
“Now, I’ll count forwards from 1,
and with each number, you’ll feel yourself becoming more alert, more focused, and more connected to your outer world. 1…
you’re still present in your car, feeling relaxed, calm, and centered. 2…
you begin to notice your surroundings, your body, and your breath. 3…
you feel more grounded, more connected to your physical body. 4…
your mind becomes more alert, your thoughts clearer. 5…
you’re becoming more aware of your emotions, your feelings, and your sensations. 6…
you’re ready to integrate the insights and awareness from your car metaphor into your daily life. 7…
you feel more confident, more empowered, and more in control. 8…
you’re now ready to return to your daily activities, feeling refreshed, renewed, and revitalized. 9…
you take one last, deep breath, and 10…
you’re back, feeling calm, centered, and connected to your inner self.”
Conclusion
(Speak in a gentle, closing tone.)
“Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling, to acknowledge the insights and awareness you’ve gained from your car metaphor. Remember that you have the power to take care of your body, to nourish it, and to maintain it. When you’re ready, you can slowly open your eyes, and return to your day, feeling more relaxed, more centered, and more connected to your inner self. Thank you for joining me on this journey to explore your body through the car metaphor. May you carry the sense of empowerment, self-awareness, and self-care with you always.”
