Imagine that you have the power to choose how you respond to those emotions. Visualize yourself handling challenging situations with clarity and confidence.

Here’s a sample hypnotherapy script for seeing your feelings for what they are:

Induction

(Soft, calming music plays in the background)

“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll learn to see your feelings for what they are. Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.

Imagine yourself standing in a peaceful meadow, surrounded by wildflowers and the sounds of nature. With each breath, allow yourself to relax and let go of any tension.”

Deepening

“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your body. This light represents clarity and understanding. It starts at the crown of your head and slowly flows down to your toes, filling any areas of tension or stress.

As this light touches each part of your body, allow it to reveal any hidden emotions or feelings. Imagine them rising to the surface, like morning dew on the wildflowers. With each exhalation, feel yourself becoming more aware and more relaxed.”

Identifying Feelings

“Now, bring to mind a recent situation where you felt a strong emotion. It could be happiness, sadness, anger, or fear. Allow yourself to recall the details of that situation and the feelings that arose.

Notice how that emotion manifested in your body. Was it a knot in your stomach, a lump in your throat, or a racing heart? Allow yourself to observe that sensation without judgment.

Seeing Feelings for What They Are

“Imagine that your emotions are like clouds in the sky. They can be big, small, fluffy, or dark. But just like clouds, they are temporary and will pass.

Repeat to yourself: ‘My feelings are not permanent. They are not defining. They are simply emotions that arise and pass.’

Labeling and Acceptance

“As you observe your emotions, give them a label. Is it anxiety, excitement, or frustration? Allow yourself to acknowledge and accept that emotion, without judgment.

Imagine that you are holding a mirror up to your emotions, reflecting them back to yourself. See them for what they are: temporary, changing, and fleeting.

Reframing and Empowerment

“Now, imagine that you have the power to choose how you respond to those emotions. Visualize yourself handling challenging situations with clarity and confidence.

Repeat to yourself: ‘I understand my emotions. I see them for what they are. I am in control of how I respond.'”

Counting Up and Awakening

“When you’re ready, slowly begin to bring yourself back to full awareness. Take a few deep breaths, feeling more clear and empowered.

Imagine yourself returning to the present moment, carrying this newfound understanding with you. Take a deep breath in, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes.

Remember, you can return to this state of clarity whenever you need it. Simply close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and allow yourself to see your feelings for what they are.”

Post-Hypnotic Suggestion

“From now on, whenever you feel overwhelmed by your emotions, take a deep breath and remind yourself that they are temporary and fleeting. See them for what they are, and trust yourself to respond in a healthy way.

Repeat to yourself: ‘I understand my emotions. I see them clearly. I am in control.'”
