30 Positive Affirmations to Support Your Self-Love, Self-Esteem, Self-Worth, Trauma Recovery, PTSD Recovery, Confidence, Personal Development, Performance, Anxiety, Depression and Emotional Wellbeing

Positive affirmations are powerful tools for encouraging healthier patterns of thinking, increasing self-awareness, and reinforcing emotional resilience. While affirmations alone are not a treatment for mental health conditions, they can be a valuable part of a broader therapeutic programme when combined with evidence-based care, healthy lifestyle habits, and appropriate professional support.

For individuals living with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, severe depression, or PTSD, these affirmations are intended to complement—not replace—treatment provided by qualified healthcare professionals.

Repeat these affirmations slowly each morning and evening. Allow yourself to focus on the meaning behind each statement and breathe calmly as you read them.

Daily Practice

For the greatest benefit, read these affirmations aloud each morning and evening.

As you repeat each affirmation:

  • Take a slow, comfortable breath.
  • Read each statement with intention rather than rushing.
  • Notice any emotions or thoughts that arise without judging them.
  • Repeat the affirmations consistently over several weeks to reinforce healthier patterns of thinking.
  • Combine affirmations with your personalised hypnotherapy programme, mindfulness practice, relaxation exercises, and any treatment recommended by your healthcare professionals.

Remember that affirmations work best when they are paired with meaningful action. Every healthy decision, every small act of self-care, and every step toward your personal goals strengthens the positive beliefs you are cultivating.

Healing is not about becoming someone else—it is about discovering your strengths, embracing your worth, and becoming more fully the person you are capable of being.

EFT Tapping (Emotional Freedom Techniques) – Emotionally Focused Therapy Script

Introduction

This EFT Tapping script is designed to help reduce emotional distress, encourage self-acceptance, and promote emotional regulation. It can be used alongside an individual’s broader treatment plan to support relaxation, self-awareness, and healthier emotional responses.

Important Note

For individuals living with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, severe depression, PTSD, or other significant mental health conditions, EFT should be used as a supportive wellbeing technique and not as a replacement for appropriate psychiatric, psychological, or medical treatment. When appropriate, EFT should be integrated with ongoing care provided by qualified healthcare professionals.

Step 1 – Identify the Emotional Challenge

Before beginning, take a slow, deep breath.

Ask yourself:

  • What emotion am I experiencing right now?
  • Where do I feel this emotion in my body?
  • What thoughts are connected to this feeling?
  • How intense is this emotion on a scale from 0 to 10?

Write down your intensity rating.

Step 2 – The Setup Statement (Karate Chop Point)

Tap gently on the side of your hand while repeating three times:

“Even though I am experiencing these difficult thoughts and emotions, I choose to accept myself with kindness, patience, and compassion.”

Alternative statements:

“Even though I have struggled with anxiety, fear, or self-doubt, I choose to remain open to healing.”

“Even though part of me feels overwhelmed, another part of me believes healing is possible.”

“Even though I have carried emotional pain for a long time, I am willing to take one small step toward healing today.”

Closing Relaxation

Stop tapping.

Place one hand over your heart.

Take five slow, comfortable breaths.

Notice your breathing becoming slower.

Notice your shoulders relaxing.

Notice any changes in your emotions.

Again rate your emotional intensity on a scale from 0 to 10.

Remember that even a small reduction can represent meaningful progress.

Reflection Questions

After completing the tapping session, spend a few minutes reflecting on the following questions:

  1. What emotion feels different now?
  2. Has the intensity changed?
  3. What thoughts have changed?
  4. What did I learn about myself?
  5. What strength did I discover today?
  6. What is one kind thing I can do for myself today?

Daily EFT Practice

For the next four weeks, practise EFT once or twice each day.

Suggested focus areas include:

  • Self-love
  • Self-esteem
  • Self-worth
  • Confidence
  • Emotional regulation
  • Stress management
  • Anxiety reduction
  • Healthy coping
  • Personal growth
  • Inner peace

Keep a journal of your emotional intensity before and after each session to help you observe patterns and progress over time.

Final Affirmations

Repeat slowly:

  • I accept myself exactly as I am while continuing to grow.
  • I deserve kindness and compassion.
  • My past does not determine my future.
  • I am stronger than I realise.
  • I choose healthy thoughts and healthy actions.
  • I respond with calm and wisdom.
  • Every day I become more confident.
  • Every day I become more resilient.
  • Every day I move closer to the life I want to create.
  • Healing happens one breath, one choice, and one day at a time.

Clinical Reminder

EFT can be a valuable self-regulation and wellbeing practice. However, if distress increases, symptoms worsen, or experiences such as suicidal thoughts, mania, hallucinations, or severe emotional instability occur, pause the exercise and seek support from an appropriate healthcare professional promptly. EFT is intended to complement comprehensive mental healthcare, not replace it.
