Here is a hypnotherapy script for letting go of emotional eating and cultivating self-compassion for weight loss:
Induction
(Soft, calming music plays in the background)
“Welcome to this hypnotherapy session, where you’ll let go of emotional eating and cultivate self-compassion for weight loss. Find a comfortable seated or lying position, close your eyes, and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
Imagine yourself standing on a peaceful beach at sunset. Feel the warm sand beneath your feet, the gentle breeze on your skin, and the sound of the waves gently lapping at the shore. With each breath, allow yourself to relax and let go of any tension or stress.
Deepening
“As you continue to breathe deeply, imagine a warm, soothing light beginning to fill your body. This light represents relaxation and calmness. As it flows through your body, it dissolves any remaining tension or stress, allowing you to feel more relaxed and at ease.
Imagine this light starting at the crown of your head, flowing down through your face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, chest, abdomen, lower back, hips, legs, and finally, your toes. As it flows through each area, allow any tension or discomfort to release and let go.
Letting Go of Emotional Eating
“Now, imagine yourself standing in front of a large, beautiful mirror. As you gaze into the mirror, you see a reflection of yourself, but this reflection represents your emotional eating habits. See the emotions that drive you to eat, such as stress, anxiety, or boredom.
Imagine these emotions as clouds in the sky. Watch as these clouds gather and grow, representing the times when you turn to food for comfort. Now, imagine a gentle breeze blowing through the sky, dispersing these clouds and clearing the way for a brighter, sunnier day.
As you look at your reflection, repeat the following phrases to yourself:
‘I release the need to eat for emotional reasons.
I let go of the desire to use food as comfort.
I trust myself to make healthy choices.
I choose to nourish my body with whole, healthy foods.
I am in control of my eating habits.’
Cultivating Self-Compassion
“Now, imagine a warm, loving light beginning to fill your heart. This light represents self-compassion and kindness. As it grows, it fills your entire body, reminding you that you are worthy of love, care, and compassion – regardless of your weight or eating habits.
Repeat the following phrases to yourself:
‘I am kind and compassionate towards myself.
I accept myself exactly as I am.
I trust that I am doing the best I can.
I am deserving of love, care, and respect – regardless of my weight or eating habits.
I choose to focus on progress, not perfection.’
Empowerment and Confidence
“Imagine yourself standing in a powerful, confident stance. Feel your feet firmly grounded on the earth, your shoulders back, and your head held high. See yourself making healthy choices, enjoying whole foods, and trusting your body’s hunger and fullness cues.
Repeat the following phrases to yourself:
‘I trust myself to make healthy choices.
I am confident in my ability to take care of my body.
I choose to focus on nourishing my body, rather than restricting or depriving it.
I am worthy of feeling vibrant, energetic, and healthy.’
Counting Up and Awakening
“As you come to the end of this hypnotherapy session, take a moment to notice how you’re feeling. Notice any shifts in your body or emotions.
When you’re ready, slowly open your eyes. Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, repeat the following phrase to yourself:
‘I am relaxed, renewed, and ready to take on the challenges of letting go of emotional eating and cultivating self-compassion for weight loss.’
Take a moment to notice how you’re feeling before slowly getting up and going about your day.”
Post-Hypnotic Suggestion
“Remember, you can return to this peaceful, relaxed state whenever you need to. Simply close your eyes, take a deep breath, and repeat the phrase:
‘I am relaxed, renewed, and ready to take on the challenges of letting go of emotional eating and cultivating self-compassion for weight loss.'”
This script is a general guide and may need to be adapted to individual needs and circumstances. It’s essential to work with a qualified hypnotherapist or healthcare professional to ensure the best results.
